Review titled Bad customer service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 September 2024
My husband was referred to sirona podiatry over two weeks ago and he is a type one diabetic, and all they keep doing is cleaning out the blood and puss from his big toe,and put on a dressing, the last time he was seen they told him to take the dressing off in a weeks time and he did, and the toe was still infected, and my husband called sirona podiatry and they said that they do not do emergency appointments, and he was told that there would be a call back, someone did and even though no one can drive in our house for medical reasons and we have no support nearby, my husband is expected after they gave him a appointment is to walk on his bad foot to our local train station then get a bus ,as we can not afford a taxi, and also in the meantime if it gets worse call your local gp and get them to put a dressing on it or go to ae department of your nearest hospital, but every time he walks on his toe it pops with lots of puss and blood, and my husband had to call his doctors surgery, and a nurse put a dressing on it ,but of course to get to our doctors surgery my husband had to walk to it in a lot of pain, the doctors surgery was not impressed with sirona podiatry, as really it is a podiatry people should be doing it, my husband is getting worried that he is going to lose his toe if not dealt with, and also the doctors surgery has put him on antibiotics again as well, I definitely would not recommend sirona podiatry if you have foot medical issues if you are a type one diabetic

Review titled Poor Service
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 October 2024
Having been placed on the Trial Without Catheter (twoc) you are left in limbo. You are regarded as non urgent and are pushed to the back of the queue every time. I appreciate that urgent cases take priority but there seems to be no system for counting the number of times you are deferred and moving you up in the queue accordingly. After several deferrals you can get very depressed. There is no communication between Sirona and the patient. You have to do all the chasing to find out what's going on. I have given up hope of ever being seen. Not a good situation as far as the patients wellbeing is concerned.

Review titled They do not answer the phone
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Beccy - Posted on 26 July 2024
The website claims that calls will be taken by an automated system telling you how many are in the queue. The reality us the phone is not answered, it sounds line busy even when the service is closed. They wrote to me saying my son was at the top of the list after 18months waiting, but because we have moved address we are no longer eligible for help. We haven't moved! I can't contact them to tell them. The complaints service just say well get someone to call you, but it's been 2 weeks and no call yet. I continually call. I tried 75 times one day, 53 times another day... Always the same engaged tone, never an automated phone handling system. I am desperate and there is no one to talk to or way of communicating with them.

Review titled No communication, shocking
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 June 2024
If you are relying on care visits for a relative after a hospital visit, don't bother, especially if there is timed medication. The window of visit is 3 hours am/pm. Was told to get 'flexible' but who wants to get in PJs at 4pm? Or have help getting ready at 11am? Most only want to stay 15 min so not enough time to do anything. Got told off for not saying friends were visiting to help. Absolutely pointless and shocking.

Review titled Fragmented Support
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Mr Terence Marmont - Posted on 11 June 2024
Fragmented support verbal follow visits not kept, have to chase Sirona Health Care to find out if & when a visit will take place. Why should patients have to chase Sirona, why don’t Sirona confirm appointments made by sending emails or messages to patients. A fragmented not linked up system creating a waste of everyone’s time including Sirona, NHS & patients time. Support missing following my Hip replacement operation & blistered foot following A&E treatment which requires further care.

Review titled Terrible podiatry service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Type1 diabetic+foot issues - Posted on 07 August 2023
I waited 5 months for a podiatry appointment, when the last podiatrist told me to see her every 8 weeks. I need regular podiatry & the only way I got an appt was to contact Diabetes uk and make a complaint after standing on a piece of broken china which cut my sole. The question the appts lady asked is "Are you bleeding or do you have an ulcer?" and I replied that I was bleeding. After hanging up with no appt she called back & asked if I wanted to drive to Weston Hospital to get seen! I refused, so she told me to go to accident and emergency. I refused because A&E would not treat my painful corn, which is the main reason I need podiatry. Sirona are failing diabetics with foot problems. One day my corn will turn into an ulcer, probably a lot quicker than I predicted, because of the distinct lack of staff available. I did get an appt the next day, and it took a whole 8 minutes to deal with my foot. I was there on time, and I asked the podiatrist how many staff were left working. His answer was 25%! What can Sirona do to improve the footcare of people with diabetes, because whatever they are doing now simply is not working.

Review titled Have They Had a Data Breach?
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 July 2023
After speaking to their office I was told a letter and form was sent by post to me. The letter actually contained two blank identical forms. Did the letter that was intended for us end up with someone else that didn't receive a form? Previously have had another child named in correspondence with us so they seem pretty easy going about confidentiality.

Review titled Extraordinary facilitators
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Martin Taylor - Posted on 20 June 2023
My 101 year old mother came to stay with my wife and I for 10 days on the 10th of March 2023 and was taken ill 2 days later and had to go to bed where she remained until the 18th of June. We were overwhelmed after 4 weeks and sought help from our local GP. We were referred to the district nurse who appeared like a ministering angel and set up contacts for a care package, ripple bed, commode, slide sheets, and regular visits to check on mum. Everyone involved was very efficient, knew exactly what to do, and extremely helpful until mum passed away on the 18th of June 2023. Every detail of personal care, pain control and sedation was coordinated and administered as needed to ensure that mum was safe and not in a state of agitation and was kept calm for most of the time. We are very grateful for the timely intervention of your staff, and the professional skill that they showed at all times. We could not have managed this prolonged period without your help. Thankyou to everyone who was involved.
