Review titled Late phone calls.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 June 2024
This was meant to be my first appointment with AWP after being rejected by TAHMS and referred by my doctor, the primary liaison team were supposed to be calling me but it is currently 30 minutes after the appointment was scheduled, I have a house inspection at 2 and I could not be waiting around for their phone call. It’s a shame that even when you wait on the waiting list for this service for weeks, you still have to sit and wait anxiously for a phone call. They are supposed to help with mental health! Not make it fire up.

Review titled Not Fit For Purpose
by Paul Jeffery - Posted on 03 May 2024
I've been waiting over 12 months for mental health treatments, in that time I've had zero support or care offered by the mental health team, I have been told on numerous occasions they don't offer primary care! They are a signposting service yet don't have a service to refer me too. Instead they've discharged patient twice, leaving me to seek assistance from my GP! I find it absolutely shocking that a mental health provider doesn't offer any services and will discharge someone without any care or anyone/anywhere to go when in crisis. It highlights the question, what is all that NHS money actually be spent on, because from my perspective it's just being wasted on staff who don’t do anything, quite literally as well.

Review titled Horrific
Rated 1 star out of 5

AWP talking therapies is an absolute joke. Referred by my GP and told by therapies team I could be waiting up to 8 months to receive any treatment (with a minimum wait of 4 months). I had to seek treatment elsewhere even though I can’t afford it. If you dare seek treatment elsewhere whilst you are waiting they remove you from their waitlist. Not only do different team members give you conflicting information, they are patronising too. You either wait for months and risk your mental health getting worse, or you are forced to go private and pay even if you can’t afford it. Absolutely disgraceful service, no concern for your mental health at all.

Review titled No care in emergency
Rated 1 star out of 5

After waiting eagerly for the outcome of my MDT and treatment plan I’ve been left in an emotional crisis with no answers over when I will get any help. I’ve not seen a doctor or spoken with anyone and you’ve diagnosed me from a telephone conversation that happened weeks ago. I am hugely upset that as an Autistic patient only parts of my needs were considered and the rest ignored. My previous review has conveniently been removed but my comments on that review still stand

Review titled Ring them now if you think you need to
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I just wanted to say, I've spoken to many many professionals over the years and the person I spoke to today was extraordinary. They listened and then took time to inform me with great knowledge, care and understanding, what they knew. If this person is reflective of the service as a whole then it gives me no small amount of hope going forward. It took a little while to get through - which is to be expected - but if you're on the line - hold on - you just might get the person I spoke to and everything will be alright.
