  1. Review titled Your help is much appreciated!

    by Happy60 - Posted on 12 May 2023

I have been attending Wednesday cardiac exercise classes at Katherine Road, East Ham, London. Very well run weekly exercise program helped me to get back into normal living. I find cardiac exercise teams are very encouraging, excellent at building confidence and helped me to put my toughens back into living. Please continue to help patients going through traumatic cardiac experience. Thank you team. Your help is much appreciated!

  2. Review titled Mental health services and long delays

by Mr Verylow - Posted on 18 May 2023

Mental health crisis where my GP referred me to local MH team. Seen virtually by physiatrist who said they would ask GP to prescribe new medication. Now almost 2 weeks and still waiting.  Spoke to the Service via phone told new Doctor written letter but not completed the process. Really bad weekend feel delay has made me worse as hoped to be on road to recovery. Called again 9am told I would get a call back. None called again at 1pm told I am on the list and they have influx of people calling due to bad weekend.

Really sorry to hear this and the impact it has had on your mental health wellbeing. This is wholly unacceptable. Can you email me on elft.communications@nhs.net with your name and the service that you saw. I will escalate it further. Put FAO of JF in the email title and it will come to me. This needs to be investigated by our Complaints team but for now, let's just get this letter and prescription sorted so that you can begin to get back on track. So sorry that you have experienced this delay.

  3. Review titled Lack of appropriate care in a crisis

    by Advo5 - Posted on 04 April 2023

I am often told that the Crisis Cafe is where I need to go. That is instead of A&E. After a difficulties attending during COVID restrictions I put my previous feelings to one side. I then tried again. On numerous occasions the venue was closed at 8pm. The whole space was cleared of any seating/tables. Staff on their phones with earphones in laughing at their screens. If I didn’t attempt to have a conversation I would be just hanging around for almost an hour. On another occasion a staff member made no attempt to participate. Either on their phone or putting their head on the table and closing their eyes. Another occasion there was only one staff member with a number of people because the other staff member disappeared for the allotted time. Only coming out towards the end. Staff don’t look like they want to be there at all and at times trying to stay awake. There is nothing about the Crisis cafe that seems to productive or being a place to go when in need. On the occasions I’ve attended there has only ever 4 max of other attendees. Even then this goes down to two or one. When some come for a drink and snack before leaving. Some sit and don’t say anything. Which is understandable if you are sat in an open space with people you don’t know. At one venue young children attend which worries me. I also feel uncomfortable having to make choices based on children being there.

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to tell us how it can sometimes feel at the Crisis Cafe. Unfortunately, you don't state which of our sites you have attended. If you could email us directly on: elft.communications@nhs.net, we would appreciate it to look into the points that you have raised. In the meantime, we will contact all our Crisis cafes to ensure that they are clearly opened at the times stated. Except on the rare occasions that there are staff shortages (when we would explain in a notice on the door), the space should be ready to welcome people during these times. We are in agreement with you that a Crisis Cafe is not an appropriate space for young children on many levels and can be difficult for you and for them. But we appreciate that sometimes a parent might need to come to us and be unable to find childcare. In this situation, staff will try to take the family into a separate more appropriate space. We are sorry that the Crisis Cafe was not all that it should have been to support you. We look forward to receiving your email so that we can look into the points you have raised in more detail. I hope you will continue to use our Crisis Cafe in times of need and appreciate you sharing your experience

  4. Review titled They do a great job and the calls are very useful

    by Mrs R66 - Posted on 25 March 2023

My blood pressure had been really high and I had been feeling dizzy, I used to go to physiotherapy where it was picked up that my blood pressure was abnormally high. They then stopped my physiotherapy and started monitoring my blood pressure at home. This was done via a daily phone call - this I would receive daily as they monitored it to keep an eye on my health and blood pressure. My blood pressure has now started to fluctuate, having more good and normal days but with the odd abnormally high days. My daily calls have now reduced to 2 time a week to monitor my blood pressure. They do a great job and the calls are very useful.

  6. Review titled Bedfordshire Community Health Services, Single Point of Access Service

by Artful Dodger - Posted on 11 November 2022

Since the introduction of this service it has been almost impossible to get any response back from the service I require, Diabetic Podiatry. I have been on hold for hours, and no one ever answered. I call weekly, and my ask for an appointment never reaches the Podiatry team. I call again a second time and am told the call handler will send them a nudge. Still nothing, I call a 3rd time to be told they tried to call me but I was engaged. In my view, it's a waste of time and phone costs. Bring back the old service, where I call the podiatry receptionist directly, and they book an appointment immediately! Do I have to not use my phone on the off chance that they will return my call? In my view, it's a totally awful service that needs sorting sooner before someone ends up with gangrene through the complacency of the call handlers. It makes me feel like no one cares and my opinions are worthless.

Thank you for taking the time to post, I am very sorry to read of your poor experience when trying to contact the podiatry service. The level of service detailed falls far below our expectations and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you in more detail. If you would be happy to do so, please can you email elft.quality-bchs@nhs.net with your contact details so that we may call you to discuss further? I have in the meantime shared your feedback with the single point of access team lead who will look into the matters to the best of their ability with the information provided. I will update you on this thread in due course. Many thanks, Heather Doe
