I have been using this pharmacy for years, today I left in tears and had a panic attack. Staff are very defensive and do not give you chance to explain. I am aware that the staff are busy and often overworked however being defensive and saying things such as ‘it’s not our fault’ ‘what do you want me to do’ when I haven’t even mentioned it being the pharmacies fault is poor. To walk away without letting the customer finish their sentence is even more unprofessional. The staff members reasoning for walking away after I said it was unacceptable was to ‘check if the script was ready’ despite checking less than a few minutes prior and being fully aware the issue was with the doctors failing to dispense it. The pharmacist came out instead of the staff member, when I mentioned it’s not acceptable to walk away mid conversation they decided to lecture me for 5 minutes on respect (ironic) rather than listen to my request of is it possible to leave my number and be contacted when my meds are available. Aside from causing visible upset there was no other reason to ignore my request of can I leave my number please. After over 5/6 times of asking I was then handed a piece of paper to finally write my number. I have always been appreciative and thankful to the staff in the pharmacy despite them giving me incorrect meds previously and the pharmacist often being late for their shift. It’s left a sour taste in my mouth after today’s encounter. When you are aware someone is a vulnerable adult to patronise them when asking valid questions is unacceptable. Unfortunately I cannot name staff however out of everyone I had an interaction with today there was one staff member that went out of their way to ensure I was ok. You are appreciated, thank you. Asda Pharmacy Carlisle must do better.

Refused to sell me thrush treatment because I'm a diabetic. Told me to see a doctor or call 111 instead which would be wasting my time and the time of a Dr on a bank holiday. Claimed that they aren't licensed to sell thrush treatment to diabetics, which is bizarre as I've never encountered this in my over 25 years as a type 1 diabetic and I can't find any evidence of this being a licensing requirement. Pharmacist needs to acquire some common sense. We drove around and found a different supermarket where I bought some treatment over the counter no questions even asked.
