Having severe health problems I have a lot of items on my prescription from my GP. My husband picks up my prescriptions from ASDA pharmacy on Leechmere Road in Sunderland so is having to travel backwards and forwards every month as there are always items missing, and he doesn't always receive a slip stating an item is missing. I have not received one of my prescriptions ordered before Christmas 2023, nor have I had the same repeat prescription ordered a month later in January. Last week my husband visited the pharmacy to check on my December prescription only to be told they can't get it, he was then given 2 of the 12 items on my new prescription (no slip for the missing items). When I printed off the items I was supposed to have and he visited Asda again he was given a bag full of medication, but yet again there was one item missing - my insulin. He went back again and was told it had been ticked off as dispensed, is he sure if wasn't at home? Now I am short of a box of insulin as Asda Pharmacy has ticked a box. This is only one of many times my husband has been backwards and forwards due to the inefficiency of this pharmacy, as my full prescription is never dispensed in one visit - usually they don't bother to check the prescription for the insulin stored in the fridge and my husband has to go back for it. When you try to telephone the pharmacy it is never answered. The service is a shambles and I would not recommend it to anyone. I only gave one star (would have given zero) because the staff are polite to my husband, but then he is a very polite man.

Had to wait until the staff had finished their chat before they noticed me and another wait I was informed they didn't have my prescription in stock. However instead of helping me to understand what steps I should take or when they would have the prescription in stock again, I was treated like I should understand the inner workings of asda pharmacy and brushed off 'you need to put in back in the system', as if I was to understand what this meant. I understand from others in the area it is common behaviour from the staff and is a pharmacy to be avoided.

Since the start of the month I have been no less than 5 times to collect items from my prescription. I was told on Tuesday the final item was available and ordered, and would be in the next day... rang repeatedly to check, no answer. Called in today, it was not there and I was advised there were supply issues. Given my previous conversation, that made no sense. The pharmacist upon hearing a few of us complaining about the number of visits we have had to make told us there were other pharmacies we could use, and that they didn't want to hear our complaints as they were having a bad day, the pharmacy is too small, and they is understaffed. Some of that is undoubtedly true. Their suggestion was I ring round or visit other pharmacies for my prescription.... a month on when I am about to request my repeat prescriptions again. Poor customer service. I will find another pharmacy for future.

The waiting time at this pharmacy is totally unacceptable, medications are never ready. Always told to come back in 20-60 minutes then still having to wait. Staff are extremely slow to deal with queries, maybe not enough front house staff. Very slow service especially when there’s 3 in the queue and having to wait half an hour to be served. Definitely need more staff
