Review titled Poor Service and getting worse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 July 2023
Have been using Boots Pharmacy for years as it is the only pharmacy in our village. have had constant problems with them, staff are rude and unhelpful. went to pick up my prescription 2 weeks after it had been put in and was told i couldn't have it for another week as they were only going to do it on a certain date as it was more convenient for them. They do not take into consideration the needs of the clients. they tell us they are short staffed but there are always 5 or more staff standing out back in full view of customers just laughing and messing around but not serving customers. they also never answer the phone so it is impossible for people with limited mobility to call and check if their prescription is ready and have to go round to find their prescription has not been looked at.

Review titled not 'fit for purpose', avoid.
Rated 1 star out of 5

[sorry, capitals key not working] this review is about boots nationwide prescription delivery service based in leicester, not the local service that the other reviews refer to. it does look like there is a general theme of 1 out of 5 stars though. i requested my usual 8 items & got an email ackowledgement. this was followed soon after by an 'amendment' email stating that one of the items had not been signed off by gp , instructing me to contact my surgery. before ringing the surgery & further clogging up their phone lines i rang boots to check first. hey-ho the person who answered & checked the status of my order said yes they had recieved the gp sign off with all the other items & yes, it was in stock and was at a loss to explain why i had been emailed. the reason i had checked was that this error occurs with almost every repeats request i've made. i have made numerous phone calls & sent numerous emails to my surgery because boots has instructed me to do so & not once was it correct, that an item wasn't signed off. the nhs is so stretched & gp surgery's struggling to cope with real priorities without my having to wait my turn on a phone line with minutiae all because boots can't do their job, which is afterall, their raison d'etre. the review guidelines state to provide facts about one issue & not historical problems. the reason i've referred to the history of the issue is that in isolation, my issue is very forgivable, even if a few times, we are all human & mistakes happen. without reference to previous incidents tho' the context is lost.

Review titled Tried Boots online repeat prescription service...
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2023
I tried Boots online repeat prescription service for the first time. After a week of no contact I got an email saying they could not complete my prescription order because the doctor had refused my prescription. I phoned my GP, who said it had been issued 6 days before, and just sent to a different local Boots than the one I had selected. I collected it... no real problem. Then I went online to check that Boots would be trying again for me next next month, but found my account status was 'No current orders'. No other info. Could I just wait and see, or would I have to order again? I emailed boots online with all my info, and asking for clarification. I received a short automated email saying go online because we won't reply to this email. I tried another email, and a CS rep (or machine) emailed back, saying that they (CS) could not access my patient record to help, so I would have to ask in the shop. I had already asked in the shop and they did not know what could have gone wrong. My problem was not with a shop, it was with the online prescription service which had told me they could not complete my prescription order. CS had obviously not bothered to read my emails. I have deleted my Boots online prescription service account as I have zero faith that they can do the job.

Review titled Atrocious Service!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Disgusted! - Posted on 12 November 2022
My family have used Halewood Boots Pharmacy for many years, absolutely brilliant staff and service. Sadly not any more! Original staff nowhere to be seen - all replaced by unknown people, who seem to change every time I go in. They'd had my prescriptions for three days - no action taken. We used to get a ready text before.. None received, so I went in - told " you have to wait ½ hour, it's only been in for 3 days, not ready". Next person told to wait 1 hour, or come back next day!! Not ready!! One of my medicines - is marked by my GP as having to be a specific manufacturer's make.. This is for unacceptable medical allergic reactions from other brands. Again I was told, " it wasn't available from Boots, only alternative makes available". I declined, had enough with unacceptable reactions. Checks I've made have proven that the ones offered are the cheapest available. And not potentially the most reliable or medically suitable. I accepted my two other agreeable Med's and advised staff that in future I would go elsewhere, they weren't concerned! Just raised eyebrows. I know that the NHS has asked for cheaper Meds to be prescribed - but not at the risk to, or the detriment of a patient's health! My GP is the one who pays the Piper! It's not for 'Boots' staff to override my GP's request or potentially damage my health. I will definitely now move to another 'independent' local pharmacy!
