Review titled Reduced to tears
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 July 2023
After ordering my repeat prescription 10 days in advance I went down to pick up my things, when I got there and after queuing for a while, I waited while they then got my order ready. Then they came over to tell me that the pill I needed was out of stock with their suppliers, fair enough, this can’t be helped. When I asked if they knew when it may be in stock I was told next week, next month, next year!! After then being told I could take the prescription elsewhere but that it was doubtful I would get it anywhere else, I told them that this pill was specific to the other medication I was taking so was really important, I was told to go back to the g.p and get them to change my other medication. By this point I was in tears and just wanted to leave, when I said please can I just pay and leave, I was told I am working as fast as I can, I was the only one waiting to pay. Was made to feel embarrassed and extremely upset. Yes I do understand that the staff are under pressure and that stock is hard to get from the suppliers but that’s no excuse to speak and treat people the way I was.

Review titled Diabolical and needs new management urgently
Rated 1 star out of 5

I don’t know what has happened to this pharmacy as it used to be amazing, they never have stock and say they will order in then don’t, every time I go and pick up a prescription it’s extremely busy and everyone is looking frustrated and fed up. My mum also gets her prescription sent here and they have yet again not given her the tablets she needs, these tablets are really important as she could end up in hospital if she doesn’t have them, this is the 3rd time they haven’t supplied them, we have spoken to the g.p as they keep telling us that it’s a problem with stockists as there is a shortage internationally of drugs, the g.p has said that there is not any shortage. Mum ended up bed bound last time because of not getting the tablets she needed, I just hope that this doesn’t happen again. I would not recommend that anyone has their prescriptions sent here or takes them here, over a week after ordering and still no tablets that are very much needed. Whilst this pharmacy was amazing, it is now absolutely diabolical and a complete waste of time.

Review titled Vaccination problem
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Steve Arnold - Posted on 05 May 2023
I booked an appointment at Carbis Bay Pharmacy via the NHS app for a covid vaccine as apparently according to the NHS this was my nearest vaccine centre. I live in Newquay - to travel to Carbis Bay by bus takes around 3 hours. So I was far from pleased to be told on arrival that they had no vaccine and was told to come back in around 2 hours when the vaccine would have arrived. So I walked around Carbis Bay and returned to the Pharmacy to be told the vaccine was still in St Austell and about one hour away. I gave up and returned home by bus. I left home at 8.15am and returned home at 5pm, the day totally wasted. The appointment had been booked several days before the scheduled appointment time and the pharmacy had my name, phone number and date of birth - how difficult is it to have the correc vaccine in stock, its not like I arrived unexpectedly! I did notice later that they had texted me at 11am to reschedule the appointment - but didn't notice this on my phone and in any event attempting to reschedule with around an hours notice is hardly reasonable: I was already on my second bus ride. Considering most people who are being vaccinated are aged 75+ and medically vulnerable, I think this an unacceptable service. The nurse providing the service did say he had had a "frustrating day". But I'd bet not half as frustrating as mine!!!

Review titled Shocking service from this pharmacy
Rated 1 star out of 5

Carbis Bay pharmacy service used to be brilliant. Now it is absolutely terrible. Every time you go, customers are always arguing to obtain prescriptions. The staff can't find them. They treat you like a second class citizen. Both my wife and myself are on the delivery service however we have to go to the pharmacy because the service is terrible. We will not deal with them ever again. We are going up to the surgery at Stennack St Ives to arrange an alternative. we are both in our seventys. I don't leave reviews, however something needs to be done with this business as it is definitely not fit for purpose.

Review titled Very bad
Rated 1 star out of 5

I don’t know what’s happened to this pharmacy. They used to be amazing and super efficient, now the service is beyond bad, you have to order repeat prescriptions 6 days in advance and when you go to pick them up they are still not packed and ready, my mother ordered her prescription last Thursday, still no prescription, she is 80 and is of poor health and the pharmacy are asking if she can go another weekend without the tablets! I think unfortunately we will have to find somewhere else.
