    As a long serving NHS employee, I had a very disappointing experience today at this pharmacy. For context at the time of the experience I was 2 weeks post op from a c-section and struggling with a wound infection due to a poor wound closure and in need of continued antibiotics prescribed by my GP. I had specifically requested this pharmacy as I could access it on foot and would allow me to continue the antibiotics in a timely manner. An administrative error had clearly occurred and the prescription on arrival was sent to a different pharmacy, one would need to access by car. The staff present, did not show any compassion or initiative to support me in transferring the prescription across. A process I now understand is extremely simple and could have been easily actioned by the staff in the pharmacy had they been willing to support from the start. The staff however clearly stated it was not their role to help and that I had to call the other pharmacy independently or contact my GP. They provided no numbers to do so. I tried to call the other pharmacy repeatedly whilst on site with no luck and after asking the staff to support me with this they refused. My husband was present and asked why they were not being more forthcoming in supporting a new mum, clearly uncomfortable from surgery and they immediately became very defensive and shortly afterwards asked us to leave once we both questioned their lack of empathy and support. They repeatedly stated they were too busy (I was the only costumer on site at the time). When I also made it evident that I work for the NHS and am aware that they could be doing more to help me, one member, immediately challenged me by questioning whether I worked in Pharmacy. When it became clear I was not going to get the support required we left and I continued to try and call the other pharmacy. When I was able to get through it was clear the solution was simple and could have easily been supported by the staff at Combe down. I cannot express how disappointing this experience was and how a more simple and measured response for staff could have easily avoided myself becoming upset and stressed and could have resolved the situation more quickly.

    I have used this pharmacy for lots of reasons over the past 2 years and the level of service is exceptional. Pharmacists and staff are all professional and very kind and helpful. I have used the pharmacist for my sons ear infection and tonsillitis where he assessed and provisioned antibiotics and received both my flu and Covid vaccine here which was very straight forward. Always able to give good advice for minor problems and point in the right direction for treatment.
