  1. Review titled Customer focused

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I'd like to thank the staff of Emsworth Pharmacy for the excellence of their help on two matters. First, for two years before coming to Emsworth I had considerable and time-consuming problems each time I had to re-order a recurring prescription - the prescription signature was always "non-identifiable". It appears to have been a problem deep in the NHS system. Between them, the Emsworth Medical Centre and Emsworth Pharmacy quickly sorted out the problem. It is now always so easy to do and I'm very grateful. Second, I recently appreciated your staff being pro-active and suggesting wearing a blood pressure monitor for 24 hours. I knew I should be checking up on it and it was good to get it done. You do go the "extra yard" and I'm very impressed. You are people-centred and take the time to look after customers. Many thanks!

My husband & I came to the walk in seasonal vaccination service on Wednesday 4th Oct.'23. The welcome from the counter staff was very helpful while the practitioner who administered the injections was very informative. Thank you to all those on duty that Wednesday morning.

  3. Review titled Great service; friendly and professional.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leo Stevenson - Posted on 05 October 2023

It might sound old fashioned but I value good service wherever I get it . We are all too keen to complain and being British it's too easy to do that but not so easy (or common) to give praise where it's due, but hey, I'm half Dutch so who wants to be normal anyway? It might sound cranky but a pharmacy, yes your ordinary high street pharmacy, has a service and sells goods that we're all familiar with but like all businesses that interact with the public there are a lot of factors that feed into the overall experience that a customer receives. Like a good restaurant isn't just about the quality of the food there are many other factors, some obvious, some not, that feed into how we feel about a place, for example the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the quality and clarity of the information provided, the speed and efficiency of the service given, and all the many myriad of things, even small things, that can make a positive difference. Today is a good example; due to a daft mess up with the NHS's information shown on-line when my wife and I booked to have our Covid and flu jabs this meant that we arrived at the wrong time, but this didn't stop the friendly staff trying to accommodate us and they still made us feel welcome despite the fact that the place was very busy. They managed to fit us in, and despite a few qualms my wife has about injections we were both put at ease and slotted in - and all without any detriment to other people who were there for the same thing. Then the procedure itself and the inevitable accompanying 'admin' everything went as smooth as clockwork and we were finished with and out pleasingly quickly. If only the rest of our lives were so simple (cue deep sigh). Anyway, just in case any of your reading this are wondering if I have some kind of axe to grind on behalf of this business then rest assured that I haven't, I just thought I'd write this by way of thanks for good service, and to encourage anyone else out there to take hope from the fact that in this day and age there are still people who care and try to do their best. L & A S (Chichester)

  4. Review titled Unsolicited requests to check BP

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Jane Gregory - Posted on 12 September 2023

I would be glad to be able to make a purchase from this pharmacy without being asked if I have had my blood pressure checked recently (I have, by the way.) I feel that they are identifying me as an older woman who might be suitable for their BP checks, and I'm aware that they receive payment for each check they do. Pharmacies should be open about doing this for payment, rather than suggesting they are offering a service.

Dear Mrs Gregory, Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Our team are trying to support the NHS hypertension case finding service and offer free Blood Pressure Checks, as part of a Pharmacy Commissioned Service. A patients would spend time with a trained healthcare professional measuring the Blood Pressure and providing results interpretation, and further reviewing patients health and lifestyle in our consultation room, based on the results. Many patients find this a useful and valuable service, of which there is no charge to patients. Thank you
