Review titled So poor and getting worse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by G P Law - Posted on 18 August 2023
I have unfortunately, had a string of poor experiences with this pharmacy over many months. I have a regular repeat prescription incl insulin. In the past year I think I have had a complete prescription less than 50% of the time regardless how well in advance I place the repeat. Today was no exception. I arrived to find no queue, great I thought! Wrong, I waited 6 minutes for any member of staff (5 visible) to even acknowledge I was there. There followed a significant delay while they found a small part of my prescription and when I enquired where the rest was and where the prescription for a neighbour was (I had told them I was there to collect both) they looked at me as if I had two heads! Went away and returned with my neighbours prescription but mine was still incomplete. On enquiring where the insulin was I was told they didn’t have any. I had to ask where it was, the information was not given to me, I could have walked out the pharmacy without being aware. There was a sticker on the main bag but no one troubled to point it out and no indication was given when I might expect the insulin to be available. If this was an isolated incident I could chalk it up to just one of those days but sadly it is not. I know that all the local pharmacies are busy but I am afraid that “busy” is little excuse for poor customer service and communication. Indeed improved communication would make things easier and more effective for all concerned. I am just so frustrated, I get waiting when the pharmacy is full of people but to be the only person waiting and simply being ignored is not reasonable. I, and a number of others who share my frustration, are forced to the conclusion that I should switch to one of the online/postal providers. I have been reluctant to do this as I would prefer to support local businesses but there comes a point when supporting local business becomes a nonsense when those businesses fail to provide for their customers.

I had visited another local pharmacy to fill a Bupa prescription and was quoted £20 when I went to check if it was the same in Jardine a lovely young lady served me and couldn't be more helpful. It cost me £7 which is much more reasonable.
