Firstly, I am registered disabled, have heart disease following a heart attack recently, non viral hepatitis and type 1 diabetes and am also immune compromised. I am also sadly only 41 years old and heavily rely on the support of my husband who is registered as my carer. Having booked my dual covid and flu booster the last few years on line i have had no trouble and so assumed this time would be no different. I turned up at the pharmacy only to be told by the pharmacist that day (16/10/24) that "there is no flu vaccination for you today because of your age but i can give you covid job". I explained that i booked this on line and have never had any problems before having them both together and that id prefer to do so because they make me feel very ill and having them done on the same day would be better for me. They very unkindly actually laughed in my face and said "you do know there is no medical evidence what so ever for you feeling any better or worse having them done separately" I explained that i was eligible due to being immune compromised and medically vulnerable and that i know my body better than him. He again was extremely rude and said " i don't believe you, you are ineligible for your age group". I explained that i had a medical exception card plus a my disabled badge if he wanted to see it, upon which he laughed in my face. I left as he was becoming verbally aggressive and i didn't feel safe and re-booked with my doctor directly with no problem what so ever. Secondly, id like to add that the pharmacist walked out into the chemist shop floor with the needles in his hand with no gloves on, all dumped into an unhygienic, dirty looking red basket. It was genuinely filthy and who you would walk into the shop floor with a needle in your hand i have no idea. There was dust so thick on the shelves with the products on it looked so unhygienic. The chairs were ripped, the front window was smashed, there floor was dirty and covered in debris, there were labels peeling off everything, everything was dirty. On reflection i am very glad i didn't end up having my vaccinations here. I will be taking this further as ageism works both ways. Please avoid this place at all costs.
