Review titled Sold Emergency Contraception I was meant to receive for free
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 August 2024
Since I am under 24, I am meant to receive emergency contraception for free. The clerk asked how old I was, I said 23 and proceeded to charge me £25. At this time, I didn’t have £25, I was frantically asking around to borrow money to pay for it as I believed it was my only option. I then found out they were meant to provide it for free. I know I am not the only young person who has felt backed into a corner when something like this happens. The clerk knew I didn’t have the money and that I was entitled to help for free yet he took advantage of me. I would appreciate a refund.

I called into the pharmacy for a covid vaccine as the nearest to my address, the website states clearly that it is a walk in service, there was one lady waiting, I was informed that I had to make an appointment, I stated that it doesn't say that on the website, I'm on oxygen support as I suffer from pulmonary fibrosis, and it's obvious to anyone that I have a medical condition, even pointing this out to the staff member it had no effect, this really is not good enough, I struggled to get there and back home, they need to get their website in order

Dear Mr Collins, I am sorry that you found our service lacking your expectations. We streive to provide the best service possible. I have investigated the situation that let to your complaint. I have found that you had arrived at a time when the last dose from the vaccine vial was reserved for the last booked patient for the day. If we had opened another new vial, we would risk wasting vital NHS funds as we would have to dispose of the balance of the doses. The staff at the Pharmacy attempted to explain this to you, however you had left the Pharmacy whilst they were explaining this. The staff are more than happy to see you if you are able to return there earlier in the day, before close to end of clinic time, or if you book an appointment on the NHS booking site. If you are struggling to make the journey due to your health condition then you may be able to contact your GP to arrange a home visit. This way we will maintain a good service whilst also ensuring a cost effective use of NHS resources.

I rushed into this pharmacy as it was close to my bus stop and the next bus was inky 6 mins away! Luckily there was no queue at that time and I mentioned my bus time and they quickly filled my prescription for me so that I had enough time to get in the bus (the next was 20mins away). Lovely and friendly staff

I'm was unable to get a prescription from my local chemist I was lucky this pharmacy had it.Gratefull thanks to my consultant who pre ordered it for me so my partner could collect without queuing. can other consultants do this? I had the misfortune to have to queue a few years ago as I was alone and and had unplanned procedure. That was so awful being in the long line and in pain
