This review asked if I am likely to recommend McCoigs and I responded extremely likely because it’s the closest to my house and I’d have to take a bus otherwise. Other than that based on today’s experience I am disgusted with this pharmacy. I have been waiting outside for 20 minutes now since their website and door say they open at 9 on a Saturday but there is no one here. To make matters worse someone answered the phone when I called and said she is waiting for the pharmacist and cannot do anything without them. Apparently she was calling them to see where they were. This in itself is not a problem but now when I and calling back to find out if I should wait or walk back to the house she won’t answer. I had informed her I was waiting outside. I cannot go to another pharmacy because my 80 year old mothers prescription has been sent here. These people have also no consideration for others. We are forced to use their services because, as I’ve said, there is no other. If I had a choice I’d not give them any more of my money and then what!? Disgusting McCoigs.

Dear customer, Firstly, we would like to apologise for the service you have received. This is well below the standard we expect and strive for. Unfortunately on this day, our regular Pharmacist was unavailable and so we booked a locum Pharmacist. They were running very late and we were trying our best to contact them and open the Pharmacy as soon as possible. Our staff cannot open the Pharmacy without the Pharmacist and as such we could not do anything. We do sincerely apologise and will ensure such a thing doesn't happen in the future. When I booked my booster appointment I was told the pharmacy had car parking, but it doesn’t, so I cancelled my appointment, and booked it elsewhere.

Covid jab booked, arrived early for appointment and seen straight away. Booster give and flu jab as well upon request. Fantastic professional service provided. Highly recommended!

Review titled Poor Covid Vaccination Booster Experience

I booked my Covid booster here after having had a text message from the NHS advising that because of medical conditions I was eligible for my 4th Covid Jab. So I booked and selected the pharmacy due to it's convenient location. I arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment time and so was happy to wait and asked to do so on a chair, no issues, I was called pretty much bang on time, which was great, but I was greeted with "You are young! Why are are here" I told her I have diabetes and had been invited to book by the NHS. I was then made to feel like a total fraud, the suggesting being I had booked a vaccine I wasn't entitled to, being told they aren't vaccinating diabetics, I reacted indignantly, and got the vaccine, but it was a very poor experience in the way I was spoken to, and I responded in retrospect in perhaps too pushy a manner, but I was insulted. That said I wouldn't use this place for a Covid vaccine in future, my 3rd jab was here and that was ok, but next time I would use an NHS facility rather than a private one such as this where there is clearly poor management and communication leading to service users being made to feel uncomfortable.
