Review titled Highly embarrassing experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Simon Marren - Posted on 13 January 2025
I have unfortunately been an intermittent sufferer of yeast/fungal infection for most of my adult life so when I have a flair up I know what it is. So when asking for the relevant medication required I expect to be asked is it for myself and how long have I had the symptoms which I was initially and duly answered (I was removed to behind a screen to answer these questions) I was very surprised when the assistant then began to ring my purchase into the till but then stopped, retreated into the back and returned moments later to tell me I needed a pharmacist consultation and to step aside. By now there were around 5-6 people that had come into the pharmacy and were stood behind me, at least one person I knew. I was then kept waiting further before being called into a tiny room by the pharmacist whom I questioned as to why I needed the consultation only to be told that he was entitled to ask those questions. I explained that I know what my symptoms mean and that I have never gone through this process previously, he persisted by continuing to ask the same obtrusive questions and when I challenged as to why he merely continued that he was entitled to ask as it is a P medicine. I told him that he had turned a perfectly normal practice of buying this medicine into a highly embarrassing situation, at which point he offered to put the cream in a bag! The way the whole situation was handled was highly unprofessional and has left me completely annoyed. I will always avoid this pharmacy in the future. I look forward to a response.
