Visited this pharmacy today to get some over the counter medication for a sensitive problem I was having. I’d asked the lady behind the counter if I could please speak privately to someone as the place was full of people and I did not want the world to know what I wanted. The lady said yes of course, she disappeared, I thought to let me into the little room where I could speak privately. But she disappeared and so I waited some more. Eventually another lady came and just asked me what was wrong on the shop floor after I’d asked to speak privately! I reiterated to her I’d like to speak privately! She looked confused but then said ok and we stepped into the room where she proceeded to moan about the mess. ( I didn’t really care I simply needed some help as I was in some discomfort and quite worried ) I started to explain my situation to her but she went over the top of me with moaning about the room again! I couldn’t believe it at all! It was so rude and it was like she just wasn’t listening to me. Eventually when she let me speak she then said “is that it, you could have said that out there!” I said no I couldn’t, I’m not comfortable with everyone in the queue knowing my rather intimate personal circumstances. I also did not appreciate her comment to me. I could not believe her attitude towards me. All the subtlety of a house brick! After all this they didn’t have a chemists own version of canistion ( which is what I’d asked for ) they only had the expensive canistion cream. I went away having wasted a lot of time here queuing and being rudely treated. I found something at the supermarket that I thought would help ( something similar but cheaper ) this ended up making me much worse which resulted in a doctors appointment that evening. The doctor wrote me a prescription for canistion duo. I went to this pharmacy once again to get the prescription where another lady there was abrupt and rude because the GP had not signed my prescription. I took it back and got it signed then returned again to the pharmacy to get my medication. I waited and waited and waited while lots of staff seemed to be doing nothing. All she had to do was pass me the box. When she eventually passed me the medication I saw that it was a cheaper pharmacy version of the cream which I’d tried to buy earlier!! So they did have a cheaper one but wanted to sell me the expensive canistion!! I was left feeling very upset that I’d been treated so disgustingly by staff in here. I’d also suffered for no reason in trying to buy an alternative when the pharmacy had what I was after to begin with!! I’ve been here on other occasions also and the staff are always grumpy and abrupt. It’s never a great experience but today was the worst. Absolutely disgusting I should be challenged over wanting some discretion!

My mum today had an injection directly in her eye.. (the hospital gave her nothing for pain relief after procedure!!! Yet again as this has happened on numerous occasions)... So i dashed to the pharmacy at 8pm to see what i could get her to help with the pain and discomfort she was in.. The lady behind counter was lovely and asked for help from the pharmacist on duty. Who kindly went and found some eye drops and a gel to help ease the pain.. I got them back to my mum n within 35mins of applying ointment it had helped ease some of the pain she was suffering.. if they hadnt of been open i was about to take my mum to A&E to get her some relief from the agony that Cromer hospital had yet again left her in!!!! All i can say is thank you so much to the team that was on the evening of 14/06/2024

I was blown away by the kindness and fantastic service I received from the team at the pharmacy tonight. I phoned with an urgent problem at 7pm after losing some important medication and I spoke to a very kind and helpful member of staff who did all she could to help and reassure me. The item I needed was ready for me to collect after just ten minutes. When I arrived, the pharmacist also helped by going into medical records and issued an emergency prescription, all in just five minutes. I was so grateful for their proactive and kind assistance. They helped me in a friendly and caring way and I can’t thank I them enough.

Rang the dispensary today and asked why my tablets had been issued today and ready to collect but the pharmacy still did not have it. A lovely lady on dispensary said that they sent over the issue early hours today and all they had to do was refresh their site they use to see my script and did not understand why they did not have them ready for me. It’s become very rare to have a good and easy experience when receiving my medication at this pharmacy due to the lack of care and professionalism that the staff hold. They either do not have my medication in or the script has not been sent over - which is never the case. The staff behind the counter are unprofessional in front of customers by ignoring customers for a certain amount of time whilst they continue their conversation about things outside of their work. Trying to contact the pharmacy through telephone is ridiculous also as every single time it automatically hangs the line up and you have to continue ringing until it goes through and even then you’re waiting ages to speak to somebody! Staff are abrupt when they’re talking with you and speak to you like you’ve not got a clue in the world. Some staff members are also seen to wear hoodies and leggings and not proper uniform. Unfortunately it will be the last time I use this pharmacy due to all of the above and more! Which is a shame because they’re letting the doctor surgery down and giving them a bad rep as they’re semi-connected!!! Shame!

Went in this evening to get my prescription, it took a good 5/10 mins for a lady to come out, they were playing with a puppy in the back and could hear them all talking about how the puppy had gone to wee on her mothers foot! I asked the lady who i think was in charge are pets allowed in here and was told "she doesnt know the rules about that"!! There was already someone waiting who was conplaining to me that they had been waiting ages as their tablets were "missing again" I was told one wasn't ready,after a mix up, the lady rolled her eyes at me when I questioned it, I was also told to calm down I was fine until the women who served me was very short tempered then rolled her eyes and did a stupid laugh smirk as if I was causing trouble but i didnt understand what she meant, it seemed it was all to hardwork for her, I had only some of my prescription again , I said they should have enough tablets in to cover everyone as the next chap they also didn't have his tablets either!! Everytime I go in there , there's always a queue in which people are complaining how long they been waiting or some tablets are missing. All whilst you hear them talking about their lives instead of doing their job. Everybody says the same. The final straw for me was hearing they had a puppy round the back laughing and joking about it whilst customers were waiting. Hardly a very good service.

Review titled Chaotic storage of Repeat Prescriptions

Three times now we have had items missing from repeat prescriptions ordered online. On occasion old orders are offered which had been ordered a month or even earlier but not provided at the time as the bag they were in was not readily found. Each time the excuse is that they have not been ordered by the Birchwood practice. We have taken the precaution now of saving copy of all online orders and these confirm the problem is with the pharmacy - not the GP practice! Go into the pharmacy, look behind the desk and view the chaos of multiple bags awaiting collection. Whilst supposedly in alphabetic order, clearly they get mixed due to there being far too many in very limited space in the drawers - an extemely inefficient storage system! As a former senior NHS manager I consider this practice needs urgent review and effective management to overcome the obvious chaotic practices concerning repeat prescriptions. Art W

I had forgotten to bring my medication on holiday. After consulting 111 this pharmacy provided me with this vital medication at very short notice. Extremely grateful for their service

I’ve been using this pharmacy regularly since 2021 for monthly medication. Items are always ready as I give the pharmacy time to prepare my prescription. The staff are always busy and are polite and advised me well when requiring extra assistance. They have just stopped processing automatic repeat prescriptions, but explained how to order through the doctors and on the app. Which is very simple. Whilst other pharmacies have struggled to stay open North Walsham pharmacy has remained open and served the community well, staying open late regularly.

Opening hours on NHS website state it’s open until 22:30. Just arrived at 20:15 after travelling 30 miles to get here and it’s closed. Brilliant.
