Review titled Appalling Service

For the third consecutive time I was informed that my prescription was not ready - apparently this chemist needs 6 working days to put tablets into a paper bag (others can do it in 2 days). On two occasions I went on the sixth day - how remiss of me - so had to make the journey again. On the last occasion I went on day 8 - medication not ready, only received it yesterday from the Doctor. Went to the Doctors - Peak Pharmacy have had the order for 6 days (not yesterday) - so they lied. On a previous occasion there were 15 people standing in a queue and four others sitting down waiting 30 - 40 mins to collect their prescriptions (which had not been done yet) - and they had only one member of staff dealing with them all. Tempers were reaching boiling point with the general consensus being that they were vastly under staffed (hence the time to deal with prescriptions) and that this company was a profit making organisation - lower number of staff equals bigger profits - to hell with customer service because there are only two chemists in Matlock so nobody can do anything about it. The NHS need to visit this outfit, strike them off the list, and get a professional company in to provide an adequate service for the town and to support Doctor's patients properly - or do chemists have a licence to do as they please.

Review titled Unhelpful

We called into this pharmacy for some replacement chloramphenicol eye drops as the ones we had, had been left out of the fridge, and this reduces the effectiveness of the drops (according to the patient information leaflet and another pharmacist). The lady who served us was very understanding but when she asked the on site pharmacist, all she could do was roll her eyes and say that this wasn’t true, that the eye drops are ok if left out of the fridge so we should go back to gp for review. The pharmacists attitude was abismal. If she wants to behave that way, don’t do it in full view of patients. We went straight to a different pharmacy who sold us the drops which were used immediately, and symptoms started to subside. I must add that the pharmacist who sold the drops advised to keep them in the refrigerator, so I asked her why this was, and she said because they lose their effectiveness if left out! Need I say more
