  1. Review titled Excellent Service

The staff at this pharmacy were extremely pleasant and helpful in fulfilling a prescription that I could not obtain elsewhere. There was plenty of parking and seating available.

  2. Review titled Will not be returning

I visited this pharmacy recently to pick up a simple prescription. I was told to wait for 10 mins. There was nowhere to sit, and the only place to wait was in the corner, next to a blaring radio. A man approached me and asked me what I was doing there, in a confrontational way like I was loitering with intent. This was a very unpleasant experience and I shall not be returning.

  3. Review titled Gone downhill since take over

Since this pharmacy was taken over a few months ago the standard has declined rapidly. The staff used to be kind, polite and helpful. Not so now. It was chaotic. I went to collect my husband’s medication today to be informed that one of the items was still out of stock and they didn’t know when it would be available. They told me to go back to the GP to sort out. Which I did. The GP pharmacy checked stocks on their system and advised it was available at two suppliers. She printed off the list. I returned to the Romsey Pharmacy who looked at the list and advised the ones that were available were too expensive and they would not pay for them!! There was £4 difference for 60 tablets. Surely they can’t do that? After complaining at their decision they said if the surgery prescribed a specific brand they would get it in. As a consequence I returned to the surgery disgusted, explained what was said. The surgery pharmacist was shocked and said that a pharmacy cannot refuse to pay for an item. I then asked for a paper prescription to obtain elsewhere. I have no intention of returning to Romsey Pharmacy while the current staff are running it. I think it’s appalling. A lady in front of me was also told her tablets at 5mg were not in stock and that she should go back to the GP and get 10mg ones prescribed instead to cut in half. She was also then in front of me at the surgery. They looked up her medication and that was also available from stockists. So is this a case where a pharmacy is putting its financial profit over and above the need of the patient? It appears so. Appalling practice and should be called out for what it is.
