Review titled The responsible pharmacist
Rated 1 star out of 5

The responsible pharmacist did not use gloves when injecting the flu and COVID-19 vaccine, I asked if he would cover the injection site with cotton wool, but he said no with the reason that he only provides it if there was a bleed. After providing the other vaccination there was a bleed, so I asked him again for the cotton wool. He did not add tape to secure the wool, so I had to ask for this too. When he had finished I was pulling the sleeves of my jumper down and putting my gloves back on but he turned off the lights before I finished and was asking me to hurry up. I asked if he could wait two seconds for me to be decent before leaving the room. He also claimed he gave me the Moderna vaccine but the information leaflet was for Spikevax which makes me doubt which vaccine I was given.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you were not explained that the latest guidance does not require vaccinators to wear gloves, so there was no breach to hand hygiene protocols. We find that most patients do not want cotton swabs, however, I will feedback to staff to make sure they proactively offer it to patients. In addition, please be aware that the Spikevax Vaccination is made by Moderna and again, no error was made. I will ask staff to make this clearer to patients in future. I would like to assure you that we take feedback from patients seriously and if you would like to discuss this further, please do feel free to call me and I would be more that happy to talk again about your concerns. I have to pick up my medication three times a week but, one day they dont have the right dosage and one day they wouldn't give me my medication as it's bank holiday. It's a medication which i have to take daily.
