  1. Review titled Judgmental

Rated 1 star out of 5

Every few months I treat myself to not feeling pain, I have an ongoing condition that causes me pain every month but I avoid taking strong tablets often. Today with a smile on my face I decided to buy my tablets from Tesco chemists I haven’t been in months and it’s normally very straightforward . I was greeted with a blank stare and after I asked for the over the counter tablets I was looked up and down with disgust. All the questions asked were normal questions but delivered with a tone of rudeness. I don’t think treating people like that even if you can get away with it is professional or even just common courtesy.

  2. Review titled Kind, attentive Pharmacist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 July 2024

I came in first thing on Sunday 14th July after becoming increasingly concerned about my breathing difficulties. The pharmacist on shift was very friendly, put me at ease after I had expressed worry about running out of my medication and did everything they could to ensure I not only received an emergency supply of my medication but that I would be seen by an out of hours clinician the same day. Within 6 hours I was seen by a doctor, nebulised and provided with antibiotics and steroids to treat a chest infection. I am very grateful I was able to see such a lovely pharmacist who made sure they did everything she possibly could for me. Thank you!

  3. Review titled Shut and tried to ring first

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 May 2024

Needed my prescription. Rang to see if the had it and could dispense. Rang twice and cut off after 20 rings. Went to store and sign up saying they are shut today. They should at least have a recorded message on the phone. Waste of time unnecessarily added to stress and used fuel and not very green for our planet when we all seem to be in crisis.

  4. Review titled Very poor service

I rang today as I wanted to check if repeat prescription was ready for collection. Historically I have not had to ring and its always been available to me just to pick up. The first lady I spoke to was very rude and told me I would have to wait until Wednesday. I called back to ask if this could be fast tracked, as I am completely out of one of my medications, and without this I will become symptomatic. I am currently immobile due to a ruptured ACL and I am awaiting knee surgery and I also have multiple sclerosis. I was told that I would have to come to the pharmacy to collect my prescription and try to get it from elsewhere. I explained that this was not possible in which she replied "sorry you will just have to wait" As a sister in the NHS it concerns me that you staff are not putting the patients needs first. I understand more than most the pressures the the NHS is facing, however it is important that we remain professional and always put our patients needs first.

  5. Review titled Awful practice.

Rated 1 star out of 5

After receiving a text to say my prescription was ready for collection, I made the journey only to discover that I was not allowed to collect my prescription because there was no pharmacist available. To which I questioned how it was that the prescription was made the early hours of the day with the text message following through saying it was ready for collection later upon that evening. Which made me question even further, if there is no pharmacist, naturally who dispensed the medication? The staff were no help either in answering my questions, all I received from the over counter assistant was a spiteful, unfavourable, obnoxious, response. (Which is quite overdramatic and unprofessional for a simple question.) It’s evident that the staff have no empathy here for the people they deal with, many of whom are old and vulnerable or possess hidden disabilities. (Anxiety, autism, ADHD etc.) Which is incredibly damaging towards people who are in situations where they are having to go without crucial medication which assist them to live and function. Not even that, no alternative options were provided, even when I inquired for one such as the prescription being printed out - a copy/duplicate - so you could go elsewhere more accessible!! To which the staff boldly claimed this could not be done, due to the prescription already having been made up. (Pardon??? Without a pharmacist???) Surely there should a protocol to inform and give the option for people to get their prescriptions and go elsewhere. Personally it is much more convenient and efficient than locking people into a tough situation! (It would even get more happy customers.) Just when you think you can’t get any more worse… the staff were not able to provide an approximate or accurate time period of when business will resume to normal. (Where is the communication???) I’m absolutely fuming, it makes no sense at all!!! If the prescription is ready for collection then you just have to hand over the paper bag. Why does it have to specifically be the pharmacist, what is the point of having a over counter assistant if they can’t do that simple job! Surely the pharmacist has done their part by making the bag, hence the text. It is such a waste of time, a waste of money and a waste of petrol. Especially in an era where prices are only going up. And I’d be more than happy to add, this isn’t the first time either, it’s happened more times than I can even count! Seriously.. Tesco! Stop! You’re selling off departments in your store just to make more money on your already growing profit margin, you’re worrying about other departments in your store like toys and food when you should be prioritising your failing pharmacy!

  7. Review titled Appalling incompetence

Rated 1 star out of 5

I wouldn’t recommend anyone registering with this pharmacy. As usual yesterday the counter staff were doing their best amongst the chaos. While some of the pharmacists are helpful, many are rude and aggressive. The queue to be seen initially was as usual about 20 people deep. As always the wait for dispensing was not the predicted 25 minutes, but twice that. This is the only pharmacy I know which refuses to prepare prescriptions in advance, waiting for the patient to turn up before they even consider the request you made 10-14 days previously. They don’t seem order medicines until you turn up to collect them, meaning they are usually out of stock, and can rarely offer a genuine prediction of when they will be available. I’m insulin dependant, so this frequently proves to be a problem. On one occasion it took nearly three weeks from originally trying to collect (five weeks from raising the request in the NHS app) for a prescription to be totally fulfilled. At least on this occasion I received the correct medication. On four occasions in the last six months I have been given the wrong items in either strength or type. Although yesterday they did ask me to check what they had given me in case it was wrong! Badly managed, badly organised and totally unfit for purpose.

  8. Review titled Awful service

Rated 1 star out of 5

Was pressured to use the NHS app, when informed it was not showing the medication required the pharmacist reluctantly "ordered" my prescription. Fast forward 2 weeks (over Easter) when I go to pick up my prescription - nothing available, contact GP. When GP was contacted I was informed no order had come through and this pharmacy has been known to not order prescriptions of my type. I was also told medications of the type I was requesting aren't available on the NHS app anyway. In addition to the incompetence, staff are rude and generally unhelpful. The pharmacy does not answer the phone and when they do they are unprofessional. I went in to the pharmacy with the intention of recommending it to my mother - I will now be changing my pharmacy. Tesco Cheetham Hill.

  9. Review titled Horrendous pharmacy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Nicola - Posted on 03 April 2024

Today I tried to pick up a prescription that had been with the pharmacy for a couple of days. The gentleman serving basically told me that it “won’t be ready today” nor gave me any indication when it would be! What am I meant to do I asked? He looked around at the chaos of newly delivered med boxes and shrugged! The staff are rude, unprofessional, unhelpful, disorganised and quite frankly needs to be investigated as to competence. The amount of negative reviews speaks volumes. I will never go back to this pharmacy and will advise friends and family to stay well clear!!

Rude customer service by staff member, treated as an inconvenience. Did not feel confident after engagement as to what to watch out or when to escalate.
