Review titled Extremely rude
Rated 1 star out of 5

The old lady has extremely poor customer and is extremely rude. She had to order My medicine and told me to come either same day in afternoon or next day collect anytime. I had asked someone to collect in my behalf. It says 1-2 closing time the person was there after 2pm. She was standing talking on the phone and customers waiting outside. She doesn’t answer the phone and on msg replied I will open at 3. And my medicine had not arrived either. She said I will text you in morning once it’s here. It was Saturday and my medicine was very important for me to take asap considering it was long weekend.she didn’t bother to txt if she received or not. When I called she misbehaved so much on the phone and hung up. Saying that I should have called in the morning and behave very rudely discussing her personal life issues. I would strongly suggest not to step in to her pharmacy as her conduct and service are both poor. Ill mannered woman with no ethics.

Dear Anonymous. Thank you for your feedback. I am the pharmacist working here. Firstly, I am sorry that Anonymous has felt the need to leave a negative review. Here at Dolman, we strive to give all patients the best possible advice and service. It is perhaps ironic that the post is marked “Extremely rude” only to refer, in the next sentence, to “The old lady”. Ordering medication is far from simple. Wholesalers sometimes make promises to deliver, only to find that they themselves have no stock. In times of shortage, we find that no wholesalers have stocks of important medicines or those that are seldom prescribed. Most medications do arrive the next morning (usually around 11am) but, sadly, this isn’t always the case. There is no guarantee that the supplier will meet their next-day delivery target, or that the delivery driver won't be late. Given the time-constraints, medicines must be ordered over the phone. This can be as simple as a single phone-call, but it is often a case of phoning several wholesalers to find one with the necessary stock. What should be a 5-minute phone call at the end of a lunchbreak, or after-hours, can turn into an hour or more phoning around different suppliers. As I am sure anyone can see, it’s not possible to do this and open the shop to serve customers at the same time. Whilst we aim to open promptly this is not always possible. Dolmans does not offer a text service, though at times this is done informally as a personal favor. We apologize that, in this case a test message was not sent to Anonymous. It is regrettable, but people do sometimes forget. Similarly, we do not offer a telephone service though, again, we do answer the telephone to patients (and indeed suppliers) whenever we can. However, serving patients in the shop must come first, and in a busy pharmacy there is often a long queue of people waiting to be served. Indeed, some patients will not wait for 5 minutes without becoming disgruntled, abusive, or even violent. Would they do this if a GP or hospital consultant were even running over 15 minutes late? Dispensing medication is a responsible and safety-critical task to which pharmacists must give their full attention. This is just not possible when people want to become argumentative on the phone, and patients in the shop are queuing not-so-patiently. Once again, I apologize that Anonymous feel they did not receive the standard of service that they were expecting. I hope that readers now understand that running a local pharmacy single-handed is far from easy. Dispensing drugs is just not as simple as weighing out sweets in a sweetshop. Thank you . Pharmacist
