Every time I go to this pharmacy, I find the staff to be rude and unhelpful. Today, they deliberately made my day difficult by sending me back to my GP unnecessarily just because they wanted to make a point that they won’t pull a repeat prescription if you fail to collect a month. They have the facility to pull the prescription and could have done this as a one off after informing me of the policy (which was a genuine misunderstanding on my part - I didn’t realise it would be an issue to delay collection whilst I used up my surplus) but instead I was sent to my GP surgery. The surgery was shocked that I had been sent to them and called the pharmacist on my behalf to ask them to issue the prescription and suddenly the pharmacist could do it! A pointless trip for me and more importantly, a waste of the GPs time when we all know how tight things are right now. This pharmacy cares more about policy then patient care and when I pointed this out to the pharmacist - who had made a point of coming to me when I went back in to tell me that I was in the wrong for not collecting last months prescription - I was told ‘I am selfish’, ‘I don’t care about the pharmacy team otherwise I would have picked up my prescription’, ‘she could have made my day worse by insisting the GP issued a brand new prescription’. Needless to say, I don’t intend to use this pharmacy again which is a shame as I live in Thrapston. I just hope that by writing this review, some form of action can be taken to address the culture in the pharmacy whereby they believe the community should serve them. It would be great to have a friendly little pharmacy in the town that actually cares about its residents and works with them to achieve a smooth and efficient service for everyone.

Review titled Repeat Prescriptions Never Ready

Every month I submit my repeat prescription as early as the NHS app allows. Every month I have to wait ages because Thrapston Pharmacy haven't prepared it! They never seem to be proactive with repeat prescriptions. Example this month I submitted on 30 August the earliest I could. I went to collect on 6 September and had to wait 25 minutes to then be given an acute prescrtiption I had requested not my regular one. After waiting a further 20 minutes I was told one item was missing as they had given the last box to someone who entered the shop after me! They said come back tomorrow to collect it. I left it an extra day only to have to wait again as it wasn't ready. I waited 25 minutes and it wasn't ready. I enquired why and was told that it was still waiting to be done. I had to leave to get back to work so I am still without one of my regular blood pressure tablets. Really poor service!
