My wife has had a major operation in hospital, discharged to the care of GP, saw the nurse on Thursday 22nd and a prescription issued for clinical dressings,as I have to change the dressings on a regular basis. I called in to the pharmacy on Friday 23rd and was told the prescription would not be ready until Tuesday 27th as it is a bank holiday on Monday, the said prescription was supposedly an emergency prescription, whatever these people class as an emergency, I explained that my wife had no more dressings and what should I do put the dirty dressing back on. The prescription was at the pharmacy so why couldn't it be got ready as I was there, if I had have picked up the prescription from the doctors and took a to the pharmacy I could have waited for it there and then, now I may have to visit A&E for them to sort out a dressing change. Totally unnecessary, very poor response.

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused in regard to your prescription request. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep dressings within the pharmacy and they are ordered for delivery the next working day. Due to the Bank Holiday the delivery would be Tuesday. On this occasion we would have advised that the prescription to be taken to another pharmacy to avoid delay for your wife. We have investigated this and training has been provided to all staff to ensure that this does not occur again. We would like to thank you for bringing it to our attention. I was handed a bag with my name and address on but once I got home and checked it contained someone else’s medication

I collected my med today and in a busy pharmacy was handed sensitive med in an small open bag by a young man I found this quite distressing and will not be using this chemist again absolutely shocking

Thank you for your feedback We are very sorry your experience today was not as professional as should be expected. The young lad who we believe it to be has only just started with us and obviously was not aware of the sensitivity of handing out medication. Most of the medication is sealed by the pharmacist and on this occasion this was bypassed. This issue has now been addressed and is included in weekly staff training. We apologise for any distress caused. If you would you like to discuss this further the manager is always available for any further feedback.
