  1. Review titled Appalling Service

A prescription ordered last Tuesday, to the pharmacy lets say as late as Wednesday. Waited until the following Monday to allow them time and not hassle them. Waited over 10 minutes to get to the counter only to be told the prescription was not ready. I chose to wait, almost 40 minutes later I got the prescription, not complete i have to go back yet again to collect the missing medication. It was explained that they receive hundreds of scripts per day thats why mine wasnt done...... I had allowed 4.5 days to avoid this. Chemist closed between 1-2, why is it not possible to stagger lunch so that the pharmacy is available all day if they are so busy. I appreciate times are very hard, hence why I try to do my bit but quite honestly, this is not the first time, i see up to 6-7 people waiting at times for their prescriptions. However, it most definitely will be my last time as I intended to instruct another chemist, maybe with might help some other poor soul from having to wait all the time. Deborah Temby

Dear Ms Temby, I was sorry to see your message and learn of your experience as our team work hard to provide a high standard of service. It is certainly never our intention that anyone should be kept waiting for their prescription and I would seek to assure you that steps are currently underway to support the branch in getting back up to date. Whilst in no way seeking to excuse what has happened, the team had fallen behind due to the bank holidays, increased demands for other pharmacy services such as blood pressure checks and over the counter consultations, and increased workload in managing continual stock shortages and out of stocks. With regards to the limited service available over lunch-time. The funding model for community pharmacy does not currently enable us to employ more than one pharmacist and regrettably when they take a lunch break between 1-2pm, we are legally restricted to the service that we can provide. I hope my comments reassure you that we are doing our best to improve the service being provided and I sincerely hope that you will feel able to use our services again in the future. Your sincerely, Andrea Smith, Pharmacy Superintendent
