Review titled Unprofessional
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was referred to this pharmacy after a 111 consultation to get an emergency prescription after a clerical error when changing GPs meant my repeat prescription was deleted. I was told that the pharmacist would call an out-of-ours GP to have a prescription sent there and to come back in an hour. After I came back I was told it wasn't ready and to come back later, the pharmacist said he'd never said come back in an hour. Patently false. I called the out-of-hours GP myself and they said that it takes up to two hours to receive a call back; this would put it past the closing time of the pharmacy. Not only was my time wasted but I've been prevented from receiving necessary medication after already having missed several doses due to this situation, and my symptoms have worsened as a result. Shocking lack of professionalism and zero semblance of apology from the pharmacy responsible.

Under the referral service on which you were directed to us, we were unable to supply any medication, which does not appear on your repeat prescription and to do so would be illegal practice and that includes providing even just one tablet, which you repeatedly kept asking the pharmacist for. Therefore the correct proceedure was followed and an out of hours GP was contacted in order for this situation to be resolved. At NO point were you asked to return to the pharmacy after an hour as we are aware that the out of hours GP would contact YOU directly in their timeframe to inform YOU of what action was being taken to help resolve your supply of medications. Once the GP would have contacted you it would have been up to you to direct them as to where your prescription was to be sent for collection. This proceedure was explained to you by the pharmacist. After arriving at the you were seen by the pharmacist at 6.42pm. You then returned to the pharmacy at 7.40pm NOT having been contacted by the GP. We are open until 9pm but are unable to dictate how long the out of hours GP proceedure would take in contacting you. Having spoken to the out of hours GP service yourself they also explained the service takes up to 2 hours, therfore most likely we would have closed and would have been unable to process your prescription had you been issued one. The pharmacist did signpost you to an alternative pharmacy which would have been open later than ours, had the GP not been in contact with you before we closed. Unfortunately as you have stated this situation arose due to a clerical error due to you changing doctors surgerys and your medication not being available on a repeat prescription, delaying your medicines for several days. We assisted you professionally following the correct and legal procedures ensuring patient safety at all times.

Ordered prescription online through the NHS app in the morning. Delivered in the afternoon. How good is that.
