About

Alzheimer's Support is a registered charity founded in 1990, in response to a locally identified need for support for people living with dementia and their Carers. The aim of Alzheimer's Support is to provide a range of flexible services to support people with Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, and their Carers.

Alzheimer's Support works closely with the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Care NHS Trust, Department of Adult and Community Services and Primary Care Trusts. We are now registered and inspected as a Domiciliary Care Service Provider and also run day clubs and a wide range of community activity groups, including singing, art, exercise, and outdoor nature groups. Our dementia advisers provide information, advice and support from point of diagnosis and stay in touch with families so they have a named contact for ongoing support. Alzheimer's Support is the main specialist provider of care for people with mild to moderate dementia in Wiltshire, assisting them to maintain as much independence and control over their lives as possible.

We work alongside Carers throughout the course of the illness by providing information and emotional support. Services for family carers include peer support groups and training courses. We reflect client individuality by responding with flexible services inside and outside the home, 7 days a week.
