Service details

Ara provides supported housing for people who are homeless/ at risk of homelessness, who are in drug or alcohol recovery. We provide a range of houses, differing in the extent of support, to accommodate for people at all different stages of their recovery, from very early on to maintaining abstinence and independence. Clients have a housing support worker who will work with them one-on-one to formulate and work through personalised support plans. Ara is under the Bristol ROADS partnership, meaning we work alongside treatment agencies Developing Health and Independence (DHI) and Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) to address peoples substance use and support them to reach their recovery goals.

Ara have been supporting problem gamblers and affected others across the South West for many years, and in 2019 we became the National Gambling Treatment Service (NGTS) provider for the whole of Wales. We offer free and confidential advice about gambling, together with one-to-one counselling for people experiencing problems with their own gambling, or that of a family member.
