About

This service offers joint assessment and treatment for Deaf adults experiencing mental illness and mental health problems, with their local community mental health team. Community, psychological therapy and outpatient services are provided. The service is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team and the majority of both Deaf and hearing staff are proficient in BSL.

Target group

This service is for Deaf adults with mental health problems from the age of 18 (no upper limit) including for Deaf-blind people and Deaf people with learning disabilities. It works in support of (not in replacement to) local secondary mental health care teams.

Referral method

Referrals are accepted from secondary mental health care teams only.
