About
Doncaster Women's Centre is a vibrant, multi-cultural community resource centre in the heart of Doncaster and offers a huge range of services for girls and women under one roof and through outreach into the Borough of Doncaster. It is the only project in the area to focus on girls and women. Our female only service provides support for women and girls to raise their self-esteem and aspirations by offering them opportunities to gain confidence to make informed choices. We welcome all girls and women and offer to meet their specific needs regardless of age, race, religion, cultural difference, sexual orientation, disability, or background. We offer informal programmes of activity in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere around issues that girls and women face in today's society such as: Confidence Building, Developing Relationships, Positive Thinking, Body Image, Bereavement and Loss, Substance Awareness, Sexual Health, Career Support, Healthy Eating, Domestic Violence, Abuse, Parenting Skills, Anger Management and Emotional Resilience. Referral method
Girls and women can self refer, our service can be recommended by friend, relative,. partner, professionals. We also accept referrals from professionals although we would always only work with someone who wishes to access out services. Referral is part of an introduction process, we would speak to the girl or woman first and also offer an opportunity to visit the centre prior to accessing services to enable them to feel more comfortable in our environment.
