Lamp is an independent voluntary organisation working to promote good mental health for everyone living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

Are you experiencing mental distress, caring for someone, a mental health professional, or simply interested in mental health? Lamp can help you.

Lamp’s main service is community mental health advocacy, as well as providing support for Carers in Leicestershire with 1-1 advocacy and bringing them together via group support.

Our vision is that all people affected by poor mental health are actively represented, supported, and empowered to live a full life.

Our mission is to navigate people through the complexities of mental health support and empower them to rebuild their lives.

Support offered includes: • Generic Mental Health Advocacy for people of working age experiencing mental distress •  Peer Advocacy, an informal service provided by fully trained and supervised volunteers with personal experience of mental health services • Carers' Advocacy for individuals caring for people in mental distress • If you are a mental health service user. Lamp can now also provide support with access to health services for physical conditions. This additional service can support you if you feel an existing mental health condition affects your ability to address physical health problems  •Information resources on mental health matters including the Lamp website and a comprehensive directory of mental health services hosting of service user groups, offering group advocacy, support, and training for mental health service users and their carers to find a common voice and shape current and future service provision.
