Carer centres and services London Borough Of Richmond Upon Thames: Library Service Housebound Library Service

Contact us

About

This is a special library service to the housebound. We provide a home delivery service of library materials for residents of the borough who because of age or infirmity are housebound and can't get to their local library.

When they are accepted for the service, a member of the library staff will contact them and fill in a detailed questionnaire about their reading tastes.

They will then be visited once a month at a regular time by a volunteer who will deliver their books, CDs, DVDs, talking books and information.

Access

Volunteers visit the housebound but all our libraries are disability accessible.

Target group

Members of the public who are housebound due to age or infirmity.

Referral method

People who are housebound can get in touch with their local library direct, or family, friends and neighbours can apply for them.
