About
The Carers Centre is a community resource dedicated to the support of all carers in the city of Portsmouth. We are a one stop shop for carers in the city of Portsmouth, offering a variety of support, including financial, training, young carers, adult mental health, emotional support, and also a carers supported self assessment. We also have a wealth of information within the building, including leaflets, and members of staff who have a wide knowledge of services in the local area.
Opening times
Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm Friday 9am - 4.30pm .
Access
Disabled toilets, 3 rooms for hire, including one small room (good for one to one work), a slightly larger room (for support group meetings) and a workshop room (for large meetings and group activities) and a kitchen for use for groups or cookery lessons.
Catchment area
Anyone who pays their council tax to Portsmouth City Council is entitled to our services
Target group
Carers who pay their council tax to Portsmouth City Council.
Referral method
Carers over 18 can refer themselves to the centre via a registration form, which then entitles them to our magazine which we produce. Referrals for young carers (under 18 years old) must be discussed with the person/s with parental responsibility for the child.
