About PALS

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service, known as PALS, has been introduced to ensure that the NHS listens to patients, their relatives, carers and friends, and answers their questions and resolves their concerns as quickly as possible.

PALS also helps the NHS to improve services by listening to what matters to patients and their loved ones and making changes, when appropriate.

Information

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) provide patients their families and carers with information advice and support about NHS services.

Sometimes people do not know where to turn to get help. PALS can be the first port of call.

The PALS team aims to:

Sort out problems quickly on your behalf

Listen to your concerns suggestions and queries

Provide a voice to give real weight to your experience

Supply information on NHS services

We have a dedicated PALS office at Queen Elizabeth Woolwich. Alternatively arrangements can be made for a member of the PALS team to visit the patient on the ward. These visits can be arranged through the Ward Manager or a member of staff.

How to make a complaint

If we cannot resolve your concern to your satisfaction we will advise you how to take the matter forward using the formal complaints procedure.
