About

The Sharing Caring Project SCP aims to work in partnership with statutory and voluntary services to remove the barriers, inequalities and isolation faced by family carers of people with learning disabilities.

By providing advocacy, accessible information, group and individual support, the project aims to support families to in their caring role and enable them to plan for the future with greater confidence. Much of this is achieved through individual case work, person centred planning and facilitating lunch groups for family carers.?

Opening times

Someone is usually available weekdays between 9.30am and 4pm but often workers are out and about. Please just leave a message if you wish and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Target group

The service is open to family and carers of adults (aged 18+) with a learning disability in Sheffield. The family carer does not have to still be caring for a person at home to be part of the project. Families from outside Sheffield who support a person meeting our criteria in Sheffield can also get in touch and receive phone support and join our mailing list.

Referral method

People can self refer by phone, email or letter. We do not accept referrals made without the family carer's knowledge and agreement.
