About

Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a neuromuscular condition. Our UK wide charity has been here since 1985 providing accurate information and a wide range of support services, while working to improve access to the best care, services and drug treatments today and funding research projects that can change tomorrow. Our small experienced Support Services team supports families with children and young people who have SMA, adults who have SMA, and those who are bereaved by SMA. We do this by email, phone, text and, when government guidelines permit, outreach home-visiting. We also offer a range of ways to connect with others who have personal experience and understanding of SMA. We don’t provide a medical service or medical advice - this must come from the child, young person or adult’s own medical team.
