About

The Alan Shearer Short Break Centre is a tailored holiday-style short break service for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities, autism and Asperger's syndrome. Our guests can visit for as long as they wish, choosing to enjoy a weekend, mid-week break or a longer holiday with us. During their stay at the Centre, our guests will find a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities on offer, and the ongoing support and assistance from our highly-trained staff will enable guests to relax, have fun and enjoy their short break.

24/7 52 weeks, only closed a few days over Christmas.

Access

Disabled access throughout. Specialist equipment including adapted bedrooms and bathrooms, and a hoist and tracking system for those with mobility difficulties. The downstairs activity centre includes three sensory rooms, an indoor ball pool and a hydrotherapy suite. The landscaped gardens and woodland walk surrounding the centre have been sensitively designed to suit adults and children with a range of learning and physical disabilities.

Referral method

Guests can be self-referred or referred through Local Authorities / Health Professionals. There is a referral form to be completed and an assesment will be completed. Finance can be arranged in a number of ways, including: social/health care, direct payment, individualised budget, self funding etc.
