About

Staywell is an independent, award-winning charity providing a range of services for people in South-West London and Surrey.

The foundations of our organisation date back to 1946 and in 2016 we celebrated 70 years of working with the community. Our organisation has evolved during its long history and incorporates Malden and Coombe Old People’s Welfare Association and Age Concern Kingston. We changed our working name from Age Concern Kingston upon Thames to Staywell on 1 September 2014.

Our core work is with older people and their carers, and we aim to support our users to live with independence, dignity, to decide their own direction, and enjoy life as part of the community. We work to create a greater understanding of older people's needs and their potential to contribute to community life. We foster greater understanding between the generations by involving younger people in our work through volunteering. Through our furniture recycling service, Kingston Community Furniture, we address the needs of people who experience financial hardship and disadvantage for reasons other than age.

We offer a holistic, evidence-based range of services designed to help people stay well and independent in their homes. Our buildings in New Malden and Kingston act as hubs which can respond flexibly and creatively to the needs and aspirations of a wide variety of people. We have a range of targeted prevention and support services in our buildings, complemented by flexible outreach services.

We have hearing loops in both our buildings. Our buildings are accessible. We can make home visits to clients if necessary.
