Services offered
Sexual assault referral centres offer medical, practical and emotional support to anyone who has been sexually assaulted or raped. They have specially trained pediatrician / Forensic Nurse Examiners (FNE) and support workers to care for you.
General notes

The Ferns Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) offers free, confidential support and assistance to men, women and children living in Suffolk, who have experienced rape or sexual assault ay any time in their lives.
Located in Ipswich, the centre provides a calm, safe and welcoming environment for you to discuss your needs.
You will be treated with respect and will never be encouraged to report the assault to police unless you choose to do so. If you choose to report, we can support you through the process.
The Ferns offer medical, practical and emotional support with access to forensic clinicians, specially trained crisis workers and referral to our ISVA service (Independent Sexual Violence Advisors).
Our knowledge of locally placed support agencies ensures we can make onward referrals to other services suitable to your needs if required.
We operate a 24/7 helpline and we are available every day, including weekends and public holidays.
