The Young Person’s Drug and Alcohol Team is commissioned to provide treatment for substance misuse to young people under the age of 18. YPDAT also provides service for young adults 18-21 year olds with an established transition pathway to adult services but will not be working with those who are misusing opiates and/or crack cocaine or are alcohol dependent. Those will be referred to STARS Southend Treatment and Recovery Service (CGL) – Adult services.

Services provided

· Screening, Identification and Brief interventions

· Comprehensive Substance Use Assessment followed by Recovery Care Plan

· Psychosocial interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Informed Therapy and Relapse Prevention

· Group Intervention Programmes

· Recovery Group Support

· Counselling

· Acupuncture

· Support accessing stop smoking service

The service also provides:

· School-based universal drug and alcohol awareness and targeted group interventions

· Support for hidden harm, those impacted by parental substance use

Opening times

Monday – 9am to 5pm

Tuesday – 9am to 5pm

Wednesday – 9am to 5pm

Thursday – 9am to 6pm  (4pm to 6pm Drop-In Service)

Friday – 9am to 4.30pm
