  1. Review titled Great all round care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 July 2024

My daughter came to the hospital to have her baby. From the start she told me the staff were lovely. I was allowed to be with her when she went to the Labour ward with the pool. The midwives and students were so kind and helpful. My daughter unfortunately had to go to theatre. The Consultant was so kind and reassuring as we're all the staff. The Anaethatist was very thorough explaining what would happen. My daughter was reassured as she went to theatre. I cannot praise all the staff enough - and my daughter's baby was delivered safe and sound, all such a credit to Stepping Hill Hospital. Thank you to all who were involved.

  2. Review titled Worst Management

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I went there because of a fall and I was there for almost 17hours. At first I was seen by a Dr who was nice and he did some checks and said I didn’t broke anything due to fall. But I was still in so much pain . So he referred me to another spine specialist dr from that hospital . She checked me and asked me to do a MRI and also informed that they don’t do MRI during night time so she asked me to go home and she will call me to inform me whatever I have to go for MRI to Salford hospital. I came back home with so much pain with the help of my partner but after we reached home she immediately call us back and asked us to go to Salford. My partner requested if we can wait until morning and come for MRI but she told us to go immediately. We went there by booking a cab with so much pain but then she called back again and told that that hospital won’t accept us unless we go by an ambulance. We had to return all the way back to stepping hill but there was no ambulance waiting for us. We had to wait for another 5 hours for an ambulance. It was all unnecessary thing as we went to Salford in the morning . Stepping hill hospital could sort it out without harassing us.

  3. Review titled Fabulous assessment and care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen Knowles - Posted on 04 June 2024

My husband was admitted on Sunday evening after experiencing a mini stroke. All staff (two doctors and a nurse specialist) were excellent - really knowledgeable (obviously!) and explained everything very clearly to us. He was given a CT scan very soon after arrival and the results were interpreted for us soon after. The professionalism and knowledge of the staff was extremely reassuring and we appreciated that they kept family in the loop, as well as their fantastic care for my husband.

  4. Review titled No sandwiches available.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Husband had an appointment but was taken ill and ended up in A&E . I tried to get a sandwich from the restaurant, oak shop and Costa coffee. Not one of the above had any available. Very poor service ,from a hospital as big as this.

  5. Review titled Couldn't have done anymore...

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Karen - Posted on 16 June 2024

From arriving at A&E with my 12 year old son, to leaving 8 hours later after surgery at 11pm, we were treated with respect, care and thoughtfulness by every single member of staff we encountered. We could not fault anything. Thank you.

  6. Review titled Very efficient.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mick - Posted on 26 June 2024

I attended a fracture clinic appointment with my mother-in-law which also necessitated an x-ray. Both clinics were smoothly run, waiting was brief and the consultant was excellent, explaining the situation kindly and clearly and putting my mother -in-law at the centre of decision making.

  7. Review titled Too long to wait for biopsy results

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2024

I was referred to ENT as urgent..suspected cancer of the vocal cords. All the 1st part of this I can not fault. Seeing the consultant, lovely staff. Examination with a camera, MRI etc all very swift. Then admission and surgery to remove the legion and biopsy. Great! Before the surgery the surgeon told me I would have my biopsy results within 2 weeks...such a difficult wait for me and so stressful! Then the 2 week period ended snd nothing but a referral letter to ENT. I phoned to see what this was as I was already being seen and didn't need referral. I was told this letter was an error and it should have been one to say I would have an appointment in 6 weeks for my results. I spent the next 48 hours falling apart! I can't wait that long...I will be ill even if I am clear of cancer, which I am trying hard to convince myself of. My head will be shot to pieces because of the stress! I am so upset. Come on Stepping Hill please get this right or people will suffer very badly, physically and mentally, which defeats the whole object doesn't it. Also I will be on the phone constantly chasing this so wasting not only my time but health care workers time too!!

  8. Review titled Would recommend

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Laura - Posted on 03 June 2024

Having never been under general anaesthetic or requiring major surgery before, you can imagine my anxiety levels when needing a tumour removal from my neck. From staff on the other end of the appointment line, right down to the anaesthetist, consultant, nurses, hca’s and cleaners, I was treated with up most respect, compassion and care. They each went above and beyond to ensure I was safe and comfortable. Could not recommend Stepping Hill enough and so very grateful for their care and support.

  9. Review titled Awful Ante Natal clinic waits

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Duffield - Posted on 02 May 2024

Once again sat waiting for an anti natal clinic appointment with the consultant/doctor . Last time waiting 2 hours , this time already at an hour wait . Our appointment was at 9am speaking to the Nurse on duty . The doctor's haven’t even arrived to start the clinic ! It’s now 10am and no sign . There are a lot of women here pregnant obviously, uncomfortable and stressed. We have had to cancel another appointment this morning, rushed to get here on time . No information is given , just have to wait . Totally unacceptable .
