Review titled Fantastic treatment & staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Iain Brown - Posted on 03 August 2024
Having fallen I had to visit Epsom Urgent Treatment Centre. I simply can’t thank the clinical treatment I received there. The staff were professional and provided a much needed bit of humour and conversation. I was in and out of the hospital in 90 mins, triaged, initial assessment, x-rayed and back to the UTC for the results. Great service, well done all in the NHS.

Review titled Great Hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Fiona bowles - Posted on 14 August 2024
Just visited an elderly relative on mary seacole ward and were extremely impressed by the attitude of the staff and the cleanliness of the ward and the toilets. Lunch was nicely served and tasty and physio was arranged for the afternoon, good to see. The staff were very welcoming and all said hello to us and showed us how to gain access to the ward

Review titled My best NHS experience ever!
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Credit where credit is due - a big thank you to all the staff at the St Helier Fracture Clinic and X-Ray Department! I attended the hospital in July 2024 for a follow-up after I dislocated my shoulder. Suffice to say that every single person I encountered during the course of my appointment - from when I first booked in to when I left- was friendly, professional and accommodating to my needs and went far beyond the call of duty. I left the hospital feeling both very impressed and reassured by the service I had received. A big thank you once again!

Review titled Discharged far too early
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Ian Prior - Posted on 19 August 2024
I was discharged from Swleoc Pacu 23 hours after total knee replacement surgery. This was far too soon, and caused me to suffer great pain, huge swelling of my leg, and extremely painful, worrying blisters. In my opinion, I should have remained in hospital for at least another 48 hours, certainly until the swelling and blisters had been treated. The far too early discharge resulted in me having to return to the hospital many times for my dressings to be changed, which waa time consuming and expensive - we live more than 30 miles from the hospital. At the time of my discharge, I felt as though I was getting in the way (of what, I don't know) in Pacu, despite there being many unoccupied beds and no apparent staff shortages. My hospital numbr ws 42004543.

Review titled My honest review as a private patient on The Northey Ward.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Heather - Posted on 11 July 2024
On Tuesday 2nd July 2024, I was admitted on to The Northey Ward/Suite for 8-days of private care, treatment and tests. Having been a patient on The Northey Ward/Suite before (July 2021 and July 2023), I had no problems with being admitted again - or so I thought! There is no longer Private Chef or Private Kitchen for The Northey Ward/Suite patients. All meals are taken from the NHS' menu and you are asked to choose your meals (breakfast, lunch and supper) a week in advance. There are no lovely toiletries in the en-suite or a duvet for your bed (sheets and blankets only) The curtains are cheap and unlined - my curtains didn't even close properly - I had to use a peg to keep them shut! All The Northey Ward staff are on the NHS' Payroll. There is limited access to the Private Patients' Liason Team (voicemail or email only), I've tried to speak to them. I had to wait 3+ hours to have access to my room, in a stark unwelcoming Waiting Area. There was no coffee/tea machine, no newspapers or magazines, not even some fresh flowers or a live plant. The cleaning staff are all NHS employees and they clean all the hospital not just the 5th Floor and The Northey Ward/Suite. However, the nursing staff were incredible; so kind, caring and understanding. I honestly believe that The Northey Ward/Suite would collapse if it wasn't for those wonderful and dedicated nurses, who are frankly disillusioned by the 'promise of everything and the delivery of nothing'. The consultants are great with very good listening and people skills. So, what happened to The Northey Ward/Suite between my visit in 2023 and now? My advice to anyone reading this review would be - Do Not Believe All That You Read and See on The Northey Ward's/Suite's official and current website; it's misrepresentative and full of false imagery.

Review titled Great experience at the Endoscopy Unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 August 2024
I had a procedure done at the hospital. The Endoscopy unit was clean and welcoming. All staff from receptionist, nurses and doctors were friendly and took their time to make me feel comfortable and answered all of my questions. I had such a smooth experience from initial communication via post and phone - all the way to being discharged. Refershing to have such a pleasant day case!

Review titled Seems unorganized
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I am using St Heliers Maternity for my second baby (1st one at St George's) and the experience has so far been really bad. The midwife was bragging about how good they are at the first appointment, but it's not been great. They say they are paperless and use the Badger Notes app, this is far from true. The app is barely updated with any of my health records so I don't have access to any of it. At every scan, my results are printed for me, again defeats the purpose of the app. I'm currently 32 weeks, and the app hasn't been working for a few days. So I don't know when/if I have any appointments (this is the only main thing that I have to refer to the app for). It has been a really disappointing experience, especially after having an amazing experience at St George's. It's a shame that I'm forced to use it because of moving house.

Review titled exceptional attention
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nazan - Posted on 26 August 2024
Good morning, Two months ago we went to the emergency room at St Helier and Queen Mary's Children's Hospital because our son was feeling unwell. They treated him immediately and operated on him for appendicitis. We only have words of gratitude for all the hospital staff who treated us. We were starting our vacation in England and they were very difficult times for us, at all times we felt very well cared for. Our son recovered as expected by doctors and we were able to continue our vacation as recommended. We would like to highlight and thank both the professional and human quality of the entire team. Thank you very much
