  1. Review titled Great treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently had a Holep procedure at Epsom Hospital. The treatment I received prior to surgery, surgery itself and aftercare were exemplary. Nothing was to much trouble for the all the persons involved and would like to thank them all.

I needed to have a MRI today on my shoulder. My one previous MRI experience (not NHS) left me very nervous. The staff at Epsom hospital today were wonderful and helped support me when I was I experienced some panic, but also took me step by step through each scan. Thank you so much, you went so above and beyond to make me feel comfortable.

  3. Review titled The best staff!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Helena - Posted on 01 June 2023

We had a long overnight stay in children's ED, followed by a 2-night stay in the children's ward. We were extremely impressed with the staff at this hospital, the doctors were present and keeping a watchful eye on our child. We felt taken care of, safe, respected, and comfortable. Our sons' treatment was well thought out, evidenced, and we were kept informed throughout. We were especially impressed with the discharge process, and the information provided to us on aftercare. We would come back to St Helier's again!

  4. Review titled Terrible service

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended the A&E dept. and after 7hrs with cannula in the arm told it be several more hours before it be likely that I would be seen after and continuing to suffer with chest pains. I ask multiple nurses and finally at 2300 by a extremely rude nurse to remove my cannualar she pulled it out and so I left with a lot of blood no consideration of who I was if I had a clotting issue or not. So I have no idea of what my blood tests started or the end result other than I left at 2300ish after arriving at 1600hrs none the wiser for my chest pains.

  5. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended A&E department at Epsom hospital yesterday, it said there was a 5 hour wait when we got there. I was checked in and triaged very swiftly and efficiently. I then had a few hours wait but at all times looked after and kept informed by staff. I saw a doctor , had an X-ray saw the doctor again and was discharged. The staff were constantly on the go and extremely busy but at all times I felt cared for and looked after. Very impressed but could see they were all working under pressure. How lucky we are to have such a fantastic and dedicated team in our hospitals. Many many thanks.

Spent the night in A&E and was impressed by how kind and caring all the staff are. It was an elderly lady’s birthday and the staff bought her a birthday cake and all gathered round to sing happy birthday to her. Well done to all of them

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone in the team who looked after me yesterday during my gastroscopy. The team were very kind and caring from arrival to discharge and this was very much appreciated.

  8. Review titled Thorough and reassuring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

111 directed me to Epsom a&e. I was in extreme abdominal pain. I want to thank Drs and nurses for very fast triage, pain reduction and thorough diagnosis through blood test, X-ray and ct scan. Reassuring outcome quickly and reassuringly conveyed. Probable diagnosis of Diverticular disease and discharged with appropriate medication. All in just over 4 hours. I rate this best in class performance. Great team of clinicians. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Disorganised

Rated 2 stars out of 5

i attended the fracture clinic at ferguson house after 2 week referral from accident and emergency. got seen, given plan with what was to happen and all was good, very happy stated i needed urgent ultrasound scan and was given a future appointment for 4 weeks time. however this appointment had to be cancelled and arranged for another 3 weeks time as i am still waiting to have the ultrasound scan. this knock on effect meant i turned up for hand therapy session at epsom which could not proceed as they too needed the scans. had to further postpone future appointments. i have also been informed that my scan has been vetted today and i can book it. i rung radiology and was told that though they have request for 4 weeks it is still not vetted, so cannot book an appointment. ths means my future appointment in 3 weeks time at ferguson house may yet again be cancelled. if lucky, this urgent scan may be completed within 7 weeks of original request or maybe not. meanwhile i am expected to go back to work after 6 weeks in total with a hand splint not knowing if i got torn tendons or what my prognosis is. this delay may hinder physio recovery and am worried if working will make matters worse. it is a shame that the only let down in my treatment and care is the fact that the radiology department after 4 weeks are unable to get an internal hospital request actioned. it would be helpful to know what the wait time is for a scan of this type so i could manage my expectation and that of my employers who want me at work. now considering booking 3 weeks holidays to wait for my scan as already had 6 weeks sickness which my employers hr department will be looking to take disciplinary action against me for this lenght of time off. this is my first sickness absence in 5 years. also the fracture department could realistically give me an appointment slot without cancelling in last moment when someone else could benefit from that slot. it would also saved my wasted trip to the hand therapy that could have been given to someone else. i may be looking for new job after all this palava.
