Review titled Great practice and friendly staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2023
I was in bed 7, Melly ward from end January to early February. The doctors and nurses were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to ensure I felt welcome and was looked after. They were obviously really busy, but still took the time to ensure everyone on the ward felt welcome. There were some challenging charactors in some of the other beds, and at all time, the staff managed this with significant patience and maintained their friendly approach at all times. I just want to say a huge thank you to all of the staff who looked after me. This is from the doctors to the nurses to the catering staff and the cleaners. All were extremely friendly.

Review titled Amazing care at A&E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 December 2022
Had to visit A&E with my son who was in significant pain following a rugby injury. Packed on arrival with waits for both out of hours and A&E triage but nurse on entrance kept a watching eye on my son and facilitated the ordering of an XRay and transfer through as soon as possible. Staff throughout very efficient and patient centric and son was quickly assessed, XRayed and discharged. I cannot fault any of the team we experienced- it was patently clear that the pressures on services like this are extreme but care and safety is clearly the priority.

Review titled 9 months after referral I have received next to no care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 December 2022
My review is based on my experience of the gastroenterology unit of Ge hospital. Nine months after being referred to Ge I have a one minute long conversation with a doctor on the phone and one test undertaken. The conversation was so short I had no time to explain my condition and I was left feeling the doctor did not take the time to understand or care about me. The staff that did my test were great, however I had to wait three months for this test and almost another three months for the results. These results would not be given to me on the phone so I was left waiting and worrying. After waiting almost three months my appointment to speak with the doctor was cancelled a week before and moved from November to April. I only got my results after running up again after this and have been given no advice or medication to help me manage my condition for a another five months until my next appointment. At which point no doubt I will have another two minute conversation on the phone with the doctor and be sent for more tests that will be another three months away and then wait another three months for the results. I feel totally let down by the care I have received and left at a loss of what to do. My condition is getting worse and it seems nobody at Ge care. I left trying to get private health care but I can’t afford it, I may have to go into debt to try and get help as my mental is in the gutter from living in pain and anxiety for a almost a year.

Review titled Thank you
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Thanks to everyone who helped me , I was referred from out of hours doctor and my only wait was for my blood results.. The care was excellent and hugely improved from when I was there many many years ago. I do have a suggestion for you to please look at - I was asked to return the next day to collect medication from pharmacy, this meant another journey after spending several hours of the night at hospital and being unwell. Luckily my children were old enough to stay home. Also not good for the environment with so many journeys ; and the impact on needing to take time off work. I saw others who had been at Accident and Emergency the previous night too in a similar position. Had to go to pharmacy twice as the medications were not on system the first time , and had to wait around 40 minutes to get it the second time. If the medications were given at Accident and Emergency it can save so much time. Or else a prescription that can be used at any local pharmacy is better for the patients experience. I pay for my prescriptions and would have been happy to pay as usual if this had been available at Accident and Emergency.

Review titled Amazing Treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Helen - Posted on 17 November 2022
My Dad had to go to A &E at the George Eliot Monday evening. The care and treatment he received from all staff was outstanding. He had to have various tests, and was very poorly. I want to thank all of the staff who dealt with my Dad, I can't thank you enough for how you treated him. Any time my family members have gone to the A & E department, you've been brilliant every time. I can't thank you enough for your care.

Review titled Great nursing staff helped me to feel comfortable
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended for a hysteroscopy today and was absolutely dreading it. A lovely woman talked me through getting changed into gown and to get ready on the hospital bed. She was very chatty and sat close to me at my side during the whole process which is an uncomfortable procedure she took my hand and comforted me and helped me time my breathing . I felt relaxed and reassured the whole time and very thankful for her assisting me through and making an unpleasant procedure manageable. I really feel she was so good at her job. The gynaecologist who carried out the procedure had a good manner and got the job done whilst talking to me and showing me the screen. Thank you to all the staff for their compassion and help much appreciated
