I have just been an inpatient of Ward G at Ormskirk Hospital. The staff there were just wonderful! They were all very patient, kind and caring. I really appreciated everything they did to help me on the road to recovery.

Child was in overnight. Told that she would be seen by a Doctor at 0800 the following morning and discharged. Instead discharged at 1500...7 hours later. No real explanation given beyond "oh we are busy" - fully understand they may be busy but a ****seven**** hour wait??? For a piece of paper that contained around 6-7 lines of information....we couldn't just get up and leave as they had our daughters medicine locked away. Nobody took timeto give us an ETA or explain anything. No apologies for the delay either

Arrived 7-30am Thursday 20th April. Seen very quickly in triage, straight onto a ward . Staff very friendly did my observations , saw a doctor . Explained what would be happening. Taken to another ward . Had a blood transfusion that afternoon, nothing to much trouble for staff always chatty & smiling. Allowed home that night . Big thankyou to you all for the care I received

  4. Review titled Impressive staff - funding shortfall.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The staff members displayed exemplary dedication and professionalism, surpassing expectations by going above and beyond in providing exceptional care. Throughout my three-week stay, every team member demonstrated a commitment to excellence, creating a welcoming and comforting environment. It is unfortunate that the National Health Service (NHS) is facing challenges, including staff shortages and instances of abuse, despite the unwavering efforts of the hardworking staff. Their tireless dedication to their work, despite the hardships they face, deserves recognition and appreciation.

I'd like to thank the nurse who treated me during my visit to A&E recently. The nurse explained everything to me,putting my mind at ease, and was very pleasant and caring throughout. Thankyou.

  8. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Sue Palmer-Conn - Posted on 04 February 2023

Took my husband this morning after he collapsed. We were seen straight away. They gave him a full mot including brain scan. They couldn’t do enough. We had a long wait for scan and blood tests but the lovely doctor kept popping in to reassure us. In the afternoon a cheery man came round with a trolley with free tea and biscuits. Everyone from receptionist, triage nurses, radiologist and doctor was faultless, reassuring and so kind. They could see we were worried and they went out of their way to help. Thank you so much. You deserve so much more than you get.

  10. Review titled Lovely staff in all departments...

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Rachel H - Posted on 20 January 2023

We are all a bit nervous when we have to go to hospital, aren't we? No need! What a lovely, friendly, kind helpful bunch of people in Ward F, at Ormskirk hospital. I was in for minor surgery, and felt very much at ease from walking through the door. The nurses, consultants, anaesthetist and doctor were just lovely, explaining everything to me and I cannot thank you enough. I even had a giggle with the anaesthetic and surgery team prior to going into surgery. They were lovely. And when I left the ward I was waved off like a friend. I'm due for a second surgery at some point and I'm actually looking forward to going back! Thankyou so much everyone, you have left a lasting impression and I won't forget any of you. I do hope you all get chance to read this review xx
