  1. Review titled Waiting too long

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2025

I was given an 8-15 am appointment & at 8-30am still waiting, I checked on-line & Web site said department was closed, I queried with staff member & I was told to 'take no notice of Web site'!& I was told staff would check for me,then a staff member called me for my appointment at 8-35am, I was given an apology. I do not mind waiting 5 to 10 minutes after my appointment but I felt 15 minutes or more is a bit to long. I re-checked on-line site only to find out the department I had a 8-15am appointment opens at 8-30am! I am so disappointed & irate with this appoint.Outcome of my appointment:helpful & further appointment to be forwarded

  2. Review titled Great overall service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

After a significant fall, the inpatient care was professional. The fracture clinic at RVI was friendly, organised and overall professional. After breaking neck, back, ribs and pelvis I was treated for a over 3 months and received excellent care and communication was clear and professional. I would recommend all support staff and nurses.

  3. Review titled The kindest and most professional staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the Freeman Ward Day Treatment Centre on 14/3/25 for lumbar decompression surgery and felt compelled to write a review a day later as I was so very grateful for the care I received. Every member of staff from admin staff on the front desk, surgeon, anaesthetist and nurses were simply amazing and did everything they could to make my time there comfortable and as stress free as possible. I was beyond anxious coming in for the surgery but I couldn't have asked for better care. Such professionalism and kindness. So grateful for them and our NHS system who were there for me at a really painful and stressful time. Thank you! A special thank you to the two wonderful nurses who stayed with me in recovery far after closing time. You were such a source of comfort. Thank you everyone.

Excellent care by all the staff at Freeman Hospital including the Thymectomy and follow up by the surgeon who did my Op with the robot which resulted in only a couple of days in hospital and a speedy recovery.

  5. Review titled All round great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My son was transferred into the RVI from another trust and from the moment he was wheeled in we received fantastic care. The nurses and doctors on wards 1a and 1b we're thoughtful, thorough and genuinely caring to us as a whole family, at what has been a stressful time. The things that made the biggest difference were a wonderful nightshift nurse finding us a big bed so I could co-sleep after having little to no sleep for 2weeks with a poorly baby and the paediatric infectious diseases registrar who provided continuity throughout and also sorted us out in paediatric A&E quickly when we had to return due to problems with treatment at home 3days after discharge. I was dreading having to come back into A&E after having just been discharged but the staff there treated us with dignity and respect and dealt with my son's issues quickly.

I recently visited the lipid clinic. Everyone I spoke to or saw were just amazing. So caring thoughtful and professional. I cannot give enough praise to all of the staff working in the NHS regardless of what they do, they are so generous with their time and patience. To be listened to and heard goes a long way. To be treat with respect and dignity is important snd greatly appreciated. Thank you to all I saw, you are a true professional and a credit to the NHS. Kindest Regards

  7. Review titled Long wait to speak to Appointments Line

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 January 2025

I called the Trust Appointment Line at lunchtime today and had to wait over 30 minutes to get through to speak to a staff member about my outpatient appointment. This was after being unable to get an answer on numerous previous occasions, giving up after a ten minute wait each time. I appreciate that the lines can be busy, but I do not feel that such a long wait to speak to someone regarding an appointment is acceptable.

Great care received from the nurses in the plastics department. They treated my elderly dad with compassion and respect, but also managed to organise his follow up care in his home. I really appreciated their willingness to help solve a problem.
