  2. Review titled Very good Experience attending A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy Littlefair - Posted on 09 February 2023

I attended A&E on Tuesday evening with acute abdominal pain and even though it was extremely busy I was seen by a doctor within an hour. I then had blood tests was given pain medication, iV fluids and sent for an X-ray. I was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction and not long afterwards was sent to the Surgical Assessment Unit. Fortunately the obstruction cleared without the need for further treatment and I was able to go home the following afternoon. All the nurses and doctors i saw in A&E and on the ward were extremely helpful and professional. I am very grateful to them all.

  3. Review titled Superb Care by Ambulance Service, A&E and West Dereham Ward

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Angela White - Posted on 15 February 2023

I called an Ambulance for the elderly father recently, the Ambulance Service provided superb care and excellent communication every step. They even returned to visit my father in A&E after their shift had finished to wish him well, it really perked my Dad up, they didn't have to do that, they chose to, that was really kind. A&E Staff were magnificent, after I stayed with my Dad over night, seeing them work so hard. West Dereham Ward staff are incredibly kind, level of care has been so high. They really do look after the families too.

  4. Review titled Guardian Angels

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nicola Parker - Posted on 02 January 2023

On 31st December I got admitted to King's Lynm hospital with acute pelvic pain. I was on my own, upset and scared. From speaking the 111 call taker to the end of my visit on Sandringham Ward, I was extremely well looked after. I want to give a very special mention to the nurses, doctors and porters in A&E, SAU and especially the Sandringham Ward for being absolutely amazing with me, giving me the highest standard of care. They doctors, nurses and porters need to be recognised as they are guardian angels in disguise to me. They worked tirelessly to ensure that I was comfortable, well looked after and they reassured me the whole time I was there. At not one point during my stay did I feel uncomfortable in that hospital, despite the whole hospital being under immense pressure. They deserve so much more! Thank you for looking after me.

  5. Review titled A & E care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 December 2022

Arrived 1.30am and was seen quickly and told I would need blood tests, CT scan and Xray. The staff were excellent, very friendly and competent. The only adverse comment was that no mention was made that the various departments do not open until later (9.00) and no indication as to when the consultant would be available.

  6. Review titled Sincere thanks for treatment at a superbly run hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Timothy Norris - Posted on 21 November 2022

I was admitted to the hospital with severe lacerations due to an accident with a gardening tool that malfunctioned. The service and treatment that I received at the hospital was absolutely superb. The staff were very professional and efficient. I cannot thank the hospital more heartily. In conclusion, this hospital deserves the very best 5-star rating.

  7. Review titled Care and humanity towards patient's loved ones

Rated 4 stars out of 5

We made numerous visits to our terminally ill friend in Necton Ward. Staff were very kind to us and even arranged a place onsite for us to stay overnight when our friend's end neared. The staff saw the plight of us as concerned visitors and went the extra mile to make the time as calm and caring as it could be. We are truly grateful to the staff of Necton Ward for their many humanity and kindness towards us.

  9. Review titled Disappointing service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2022

Arriving by ambulance, joined a queue of fifteen ambulalances. Waited in ambulance for 6.5 hours before going into hospital. Bloods and triage in vehicle, told a doc would come, never arrived, nothing to eat or drink offered Eventually in A And E and waited another fIve hours to see a consultant. No cardiac consultant available. Sent home next day with meds changed without seeing cardiac consultant.felt they were just keen to get you out without solving the problem, come back to different dept next week if you are not dead by then!! Some lovely nursing staff but hierarchy questionable.

I am very sorry to read about your experience of being a patient in our A&E department following an arrival by ambulance. Whilst we endeavour to offer the best care possible to all patients it is clear that your experience did not meet your expectations and there are areas we could have improved upon. If you would like your experience to be looked into please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01553 613351 or 01553 613343 or via email pals@qehkl.nhs.uk. We can then have a greater understanding of the difficulties you had and for us to learn and make improvements where we are able. In the meantime I have shared your feedback with our A&E team so that they can consider areas for improvement. 10. Review titled Fantastic maternity care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joanna Stubley - Posted on 02 November 2022

I recently had my baby at the start of October and received outstanding care not only during my labour and birth, but also when attending prior to this for checks at day assessment unit and delivery unit. I would like to thank you all (midwives, doctors, housekeeping, nurses, maternity care assistants, surgical staff) for the care that we received and for the amazing job you all continue to do despite the national pressures on midwifery at the moment.

Dear Ms Stubley Thank you for your great feedback that you posted onto this website in October last year - I am extremely sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. I have shared your comments and experience with colleagues in Maternity so that they are aware of how you were pleased with the care you received throughout your pregnancy and from all involved. I know that they will appreciate your feedback (especially as you say) with the national pressures currently placed on maternity services across the country.
