  1. Review titled Excellent Physio

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lucy (Anne) - Posted on 31 October 2024

I have to use many departments at University College Hospital, most of my experience is excellent, included is outpatient physio (in patient mixed). Physio have helped with hydrotherapy and classes needed this year after a severe autoimmune flare up then knee replacement. I would not have progressed, especially after the operation, to doing what I am now able to do - I would have been too scared it would undo my operation etc. Now I do weights again and shortly joining a gym using machines, weights and floor pilates, none of which I would dared to have attempted without their excellent advice, reassurance and positive support, so very thankful. Things were initially so dire, limited painful movement, now walking thousands of steps. I can only give first name initials in low case not names! lcech. And for the NHS hopefully it means less visits (physio = cost saving!!) more getting on enjoying life.

First time in my life I saw the security officer in UCLA/a&e sitting in a chair while patients had to sit on the floor due to a lack of seats

  4. Review titled uclh gone down hill after covid

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mike - Posted on 22 August 2024

Pre covid, uclh gastro team saved my life, I have no idea what has happened to the gastro team after covid period! My 67 year old mum whose been in severe gastro pain over the past 4 weeks, cant even get to see a gastro consultant, we have waited for 2 telephone appointments in the past 2 weeks, yet both times we had no phone call! She's been to uclh a & e several times in the past 2 weeks with bad pain, yet still sent away in pain, without being put forward to a gastro doctor, it's unacceptable and a real major failing by uclh! On my mums 8th A & E trip, this time the ambulance have taken her to St Thomas hospital, they are attending to her pain and she's getting first class treatment, which she did not get help in the 7 times visiting uclh a & e for her pain other than the words there's nothing we can do!

  6. Review titled A&E staff nursing staff should be trained in humanity

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by James - Posted on 17 July 2024

I attended the A&E following an assault traumatised and in pain. The nursing staff Majors chairs were uncaring rude unhelpful I was spoken to as a criminal or begging for charity I was humiliated after such a terrible attack I was left in severe pain for 9 hours on a chair sitting was extremely painful, they ignored doctors requests for a bed I suffered almost as much by the nurses as my attacker. Finally at 7am I was allowed to lie down prior to being admitted for urgent minor surgery. I was not offered water or food in 9 hours.

  7. Review titled Great experience and on time

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 May 2024

I'd like to say thank you to everyone in the endoscopy department. Everyone was very nice to me and reassured me that everything would be ok and they would manage my pain throughout the procedure. The doctors, nurses and reception staff were polite and on time and made the whole experience as stress free as possible.

  8. Review titled CT - now sore

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 May 2024

In for a CT scan today and first off, the need to be off centre made life difficult for me. It's physically very hard if you are in pain to move to the right side of a narrow CT table. Using the rod and angling my leg has now left me even more sore than normal. The scan table was hard and uncomfortable and the fluorescent light above the scanner has left me with sore eyes. There was no wooden chair to put my shoes on and so had to hobble back to the waiting room. I let myself out as noone could be bothered to check on me or even say bye. It would help in future for scans like this to say you will have to disrobe, thankfully my shorts didn't have metal eyelets. This was my worst experience ever of a CT. It felt cold, unfriendly, and claustrophobic. UCH is supposed to be the best - not quite.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Martin Oliva - Posted on 19 April 2024

Experienced very high blood pressure and chest pains so attended UCH A&E as per NHS advice. Prompt, faultless and comprehensive care given in a clean and efficient environment, the very best on offer by the NHS. Yes this is a genuine review.

  10. Review titled Efficient and caring service from beginning to end

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 April 2024

From the GP's call to being seen, having tests done and then seen by a doctor and sent on my way I saw such good care, patience, calmness and kindness towards me and the other people in the waiting room. I often direct patients here as a GP but it was great to see it from the other side - hurrah for the NHS and the Ambulatory care team at UCH and a big thank you!
