Review titled Best A and E reception team.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rachel P - Posted on 17 April 2023
Attended A and E on 16/4/23, arrived at 18:00 and was x-rayed, and given a follow up appointment by 21:30, which I thought was good for how busy they were, there was a constant stream of new patients coming in, plus plenty of ambulance admissions. They had free sandwiches, crackers and orange juice available, as well as the standard vending machines, which was a nice touch. Please pass on my thanks to the reception team, who were friendly, compassionate and had a sense of humour, all of which I needed. This was all while taking abuse off patients who weren't happy with the wait, and having to try and be Google translate to patients who had little English. Only negative points would be, it was too hot in the waiting area, maybe save the NHS some money by turning the heating down. And although there was a TV present in the waiting area, it wasn't on, would've been nice to have had something to watch whilst waiting, even if just the news on silent, with subtitles.

Review titled Helpful & polite security staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Julia - Posted on 14 March 2023
My 95 yr old Mother had an appointment at the hospital and due to an incident in the car park outside the main entrance we were unable to use it. The security staff went out of their way to find a space for us to park so that we did not have to walk a long distance to the entrance. They were very polite and efficient and we would like to thank them for their help.

I was in the department from 2 am until 9.20 and I witnessed patients including myself being treated with dignity, great ontime Care and helpful staff. They are a credit to the trust.

Review titled Superb treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Hazel Parsons - Posted on 31 March 2023
Attended X-ray CT unit for a scan with contrast. Was very nervous as I am fragile and suffer limited mobility. I was extremely well treated and was extended the utmost care and consideration during my visit. Would like to be able to single out the individuals concerned, but I understand that this is not permitted under the review rules.

Review titled Shocking AE experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by D Henderson - Posted on 21 March 2023
My wife was sent to AE at 9 pm on 20th mar 2023 . She had suspected blood clot . I drove not wishing to burden the ambulance service . We arrived at 9.50 that evening to a totally packed AE . The security guard stop me sitting with my wife yet at least 50% of the space was taken up by family and carers . He even singled me out shouting . Totally unprofessional, Barely literate power hungry . My wife than spent all evening and th r following morning till 9am with no communication accept from one of the then exiting consultants who after she asked how long having already waited 10 hours was shouted at , this is the way it is and that she would now be made to wait . At 9am she was transferred a different ward and I write this on the 21st Mar still at the hospital. If she had got a blood clot …….

Review titled Car park is absurd!

Terrible car park- takes roughly one hour just to leave the car park alone. Not good enough at Worcester Royal.

Review titled Dermatology fast track
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Marjorie Nelson - Posted on 02 March 2023
As I was fast tracked to me seen I was delighted to receive an appointment within nine days of the referral, in fact I was given the choice of a Saturday or Sunday. I was taken at the exact time of my appointment, it was an extremely busy clinic with two consultants and one plastic surgeon along with several nurses giving their time at a weekend. Formerly my husband had had two fast track appointments and each time he was seen amazingly quickly. In this day and age so often the NHS is criticised but I can only give praise.

30 Dec diagnosedBowel Cancer At Kidderminster General Hospital. Surgery , reconnection at Worcester Royal on 15. 3. 23 with planned stoma reconstruction soonest. Discharged 20.3.23 Every professional I met at both Hospitals were kind, caring and apparently solely dedicated to my well being. I commend them all without reservation The food at Worcester was universally accepted as being awful.
