  2. Review titled Horrible waiting time!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Ella - Posted on 16 March 2023

Wouldn’t recommend, waiting time is always an h or more. Last time the receptionist forgot to check me in and after an h of waiting, had to wait again to be seen. Awful waste of my time. No to mention that parking costs money, so much space and yet you have to pay to park. Who pays for my wasted time? No one

  3. Review titled Useful service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was in a lot of pain so was hoping to be seen quickly. I waited 2 hours in the end, much better than A&E, although the sign said the wait was one hour. The doctor was friendly and treated me well, although I felt I could have been given more information as to how to deal with my Condition. My only criticism was the receptionist, who did not look up from her phone when I arrived at the front desk, and generally gave the impression that I was stopping her from reading her phone messages. Another receptionist came along later and was more friendly, greeting patients when they arrived.

  4. Review titled Poor system management

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 March 2023

This is an overworked clinic, which perhaps can't be helped. One thing which would make a huge difference to the stressful experience of the waiting room would be if staff actually came into the room to call out names. The triage nurse shouts from her seat in an adjoining room This is quite hard to hear when the waiting room is busy. The other staff call the name from a doorway down the corridor and obscured by a desk and glass partition. This is almost completely inaudible. This makes it much more stressful for all patients as we are all worrying we've been called and missed it over the hubbub. Simply coming into the room to call the names would be a huge improvement.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came to-day with a knee injury for an x-ray. I was pleased. The process is straightforward and the waiting time not too long. It is better than a&e.

  6. Review titled horrible experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

Reception: from polite but very patronizing to extremely rude. The way of informing about waiting time needs to be drastically improved. They also need to rethink what constitute an emergency. Other staff moody and unsympathetic After trying to get an appointment at my GP, I had attended the Centre because of hypertension, confirmed by the triage nurse. the GP who saw me, after a 4.5 hours wait, took only one reading (with an unreliable inflatable cuff monitor) and because it looked normal, dismissed me, indicating that I should see my GP, who didn't have any appointments anyway. I stopped at the Chemist to have my blood pressure re-checked, and it gave a high reading (177/91). Went back to the center and the triage nurse took another high reading. At this point there was a 4 hours waiting and, in any case, I did not want to see the same GP that could not be bothered to take 2 or 3 readings to make sure he had the right information about my blood pressure. I informed the nurse that I was going to complain about my treatment and left. Later in the evening, I got a phone call by the GP to ask if I was still in the centre. Too little, too late. The next morning, being unable to see my GP, I consulted a private GP which made all the difference.

  7. Review titled Fantastic service

Visited Beckenham Beacon Urgent Care Centre yesterday and was really impressed by all the people I came into contact with (reception, triage, xray dept, doctor). They were all polite, considerate, caring and reassuring. I arrived at about 9 am and was seen, x rayed and diagnosed by 10.30am. The whole experience was carried out quickly and efficiently. Thank you!

  8. Review titled Waste off time.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 April 2023

Took my 4 year old son down there twice this weekend as he’s been Ill for a week now and both times they turned him away absolute joke and saying they only have one GP on when they have a waiting room full off people. And the stuff are very rude the nurse shrugged her shoulders and said there nothing we can do it’s actually disgusting. They don’t prioritise kids and have the cheek to turn them away and say they need an appointment when it’s a walk-in clinic. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone it’s absolutely disgusting how they treat patients, especially children and after the way I treated my son I will not be taking any of my kids back there.

  10. Review titled So caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Melodie Johnson - Posted on 26 January 2023

I attended the urgent care centre following a nasty fall. Reception was welcoming and the triage nurse was wonderfully kind and gentle with me. He gave me pain killers and personally directed me to X-Ray where I was seen by the radiologist who was also incredibly kind, sympathetic, patient and thorough. I was then seen by the doctor who prepared a sling whilst showing me what I had broken on her screen. All the staff were superb. Despite the department being incredibly busy, I was seen quickly and efficiently. Thank you so much for looking after me.
