    I have had cataract surgery on both eyes at CHEC Watford. Both went very well and my eyes returned to normal by the next day, but obviously with better vision! Getting an appointment was easy and all staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. They have a difficult job, dealing with a delicate organ in predominantly elderly patients who may find the procedure challenging. A great asset to the NHS.

    clinic is clean, and people are courteous, they have broken down the process, so you require multiple appointments for the treatment. this delays your diagnosis and treatment, but looks good from the statistics that they are seeing many patients each day. my referral was urgent, I got initial appointment a month later. during my appointment, I was in & out in 5 minutes - took eye photo and asked me to book another appointment for follow up, which is now next month. I am at work and having to take much time off to achieve these appointments. also, they are usually late by minimum 30 mins to an hour. All this affects the uk gdp economy!

    Staff friendly and efficient but the aftercare severely lacking . The surgeon did not speak to me at all after the surgery and it was a nurse who told me that he’d finished . The nurse took me through to the discharge room which was engaged so she started going through my aftercare details while standing in the hallway. No cup of tea as promised and I felt the whole thing was rushed. Most people including myself are a bit anxious going in for cataract surgery and a bit of tlc would have made the experience a lot more bearable.

    I cannot rate CHEC Watford highly enough - from referral to surgery - my experience was incredible. Spotlessly clean waiting rooms, kind and empathetic nurses and a wonderful, highly skilled surgeon. I was very nervous but was reassured and comforted. I had both eyes operated on within two weeks and the results are miraculous. Thank you CHEC Watford - the NHS at its very best.

    I came all the way from London, cost a lot, was lost and arrived 10 mins late. Tried to phone on the way but phone lines closed. They refused to see me. No consideration. Putting patients at the centre of everything we do? Just words not the way they act.

    The tests before the operation as well as the operation itself where a pleasant experience with the staff being very efficient and professional. I would recommend this clinic to anybody else in my situation. However, there is one thing which I think needs improving. I was sent home with 5 mL of Maxitrol to use on my eyes for the next four weeks. But with two more weeks to go, I have now run out and have to go back to Watford from Amersham at some inconvenience and expense. Am I the only patient who runs out of drops? Or could one be sent home with some two bottles of eyedrops? I would be grateful to hear your response. It is a pity because this rather spoils the pleasant experience I had up till now.

    I have just had Bi Lateral cataracts removed, and im so pleased with everything. The clinic is clean and the staff are really helpful. I was only going to have 1 eye done at a time, but im a very anxious person so i opted to have them both done together. Im just so glad i can see properly again. Thank you so much

    Four years of amazing care, courtesy, patience,understanding and such good nature. Receptionists are really amazing. Diagnostic eye testing is unbelievably good. Doctors are so good and very reassuring. Thank goodness for the CHEC in Watford-Atria.
