    I have been very happy with the treatment which i have received at the clinic. The staff there were very helpful and efficient and I have been pleasantly surprised at how simple the whole process has been.

    A very disheartening experience ! Poor information about initial appointments so time and transport issues. All appointment times I attended were running significantly late ( eg between 1 - 2.5 hours ). Cataract surgeon was brusque, reluctant to share outline of surgical procedure and options and gave the impression that he couldn't be bothered with this aspect of patient care. Post surgery - Have now developed problems. Trying to contact Watford Centre is impossible - repeated phone calls : respond with 'try later'. CHEC centre expects you to use 'chat' to contact them. People with eye problems find it difficult to use 'chat'/type messages. So far, the only solution would be to turn up at Watford and that is difficult since I live far. This system so far doesn't seem to cater for patients with eye issues. So far, this has been a frustratingly negative experience at each stage of the patient journey.

We always try to limit waiting times in our clinics but there may be instances where unexpected delays arise, and this is unavoidable to ensure all patients receive the necessary level of care they require.     Not a great first experience with you and not a great indication of your consultants capabilities when they (incorrectly!) reject an urgent referral! Urgent referral for within a week received on 1st April..... only have an appointment tomorrow because I chased up today.

    Surprised at the delay at both the measurement clinic appointment & for my surgery. Whilst apologetic due to a member of staff going sick, there was over a three hour wait, but I was eventually treated well & efficiently. It appeared all the clinics were running late. On the day of my surgery I arrived early for my appointment for 12.15pm. The clinic area was packed with most people saying they'd been waiting a long time & their appointments were late morning. I was surprised when a patient who'd only gone for eye measurements was told there had been a cancellation & they could have their surgery that day if they wished! This seemed silly when they were already running very late. In the event this gentleman went in before several of us with pre-booked appointments!! I was eventually taken in around 2.30 - 2.45pm. Whilst I felt quite relaxed prior to my arrival & I'm not an impatient person, by the time I went in for surgery I was becoming extremely anxious. By then the clinic was so packed there was only standing room with a lot of very frustrated patients. My bi-lateral surgery went to plan, but no-one said anything to me throughout, apart from the consultant telling me when one eye was finished, then when the other one was. I was also under the impression from the booklet that I'd be taken to a recovery area & given refreshment before being discharged. This did not happen for anyone. As soon as the surgery was complete I was taken to a small room where the discharge documents were completed, then returned to the main waiting room. Another patient who came out after me appeared somewhat distressed. Throughout our wait there were a vast number of staff all walking about, going in and out of rooms constantly with doors banging behind them. Hardly a relaxing, restful area.

    I must say I was taken aback by the CHEC Watford clinic, everything was so efficient, staff all so helpful, appointments always on time, I was really blown away by it all. I was extremely impressed and thought it was just marvellous. I am so pleased and happy with the outcome of my surgery.

    I would recommend CHEC very much. My eyesight has been restored considerably. I'm really, really impressed. I asked to get my eyes sorted out and was seen very quickly. I managed to get a cancellation the following day. My brother would like to attend CHEC - I'm so impressed. Thank you. It's been brilliant
